ADEMA To Play Iraq As Part Of USO Tour - Feb. 10, 2005
ADEMA bassist Dave DeRoo has posted the following message on the group's official web site:

"First off, I'd like to welcome Kevin Lee of Novi Entertainment to the ADEMA family. His management team represents a wide array of different artists, and we're lookin' forward to 2005 being ADEMA's best year yet.

"Well, we got an offer to do a tour for the USO. For those of you that are unfamiliar, the USO is a non-profit, non-military organization that provides entertainment for American soldiers at home and abroad; all over the world. It's not official yet, but I'm told that the region we will be playing in (more than likely) will be the Middle East, i.e. Afghanistan, Kuwait, The United Arab Emirates, and... yes, even....IRAQ! It looks like it's gonna be for a couple of weeks, maybe in April, before we come home and kick off a U.S. tour. It's for a good cause; it's a chance to entertain the motherfuckers that fight for this country, and a chance to give our support.

"I've already had a few friends tell me, 'Dude, you're crazy! What are you goin' over there for if you don't have to?' And you know what? It's simple, really. The only thing that's 'crazy' is that there's men and women over there that have to carry M-16s, drive tanks, jump outta helicopters — that's the crazy shit! We're just a rock band from California that's gonna get to at least let these people know what they have to come home to. And regardless of what your political beliefs are, or whether or not you support the war in Iraq, Everyone that lives in this country should love this country. I know I do. And I'm sure that either you, or someone you know had a friend/family member/loved one over there that they want home."

ADEMA's first single from their "Planets" CD will be the track "Tornado", released on March 21 in the U.K. only. The group's first album with former REWIND YESTERDAY singer Luke Caraciolli, "Planets", will be released on April 5 (one day earlier internationally) via Earache Records. 16 tracks will be included on the follow-up to 2003's "Unstable", which will reportedly come with a bonus DVD. A new ADEMA cut, entitled "Barricades of Time", which recently appeared on a Metal Hammer cover-mounted CD, can be heard online at this location (Real Audio).

I think it's great that they are braving the trip to offer some entertainment for the troops.

I also think that their new song SUCKS.

I'd just as soon let an Iraqi blow my brains out than sit through a show by this band. I appreciate the fact that they're going over there, but the problem is that they're ADEMA, which is just a fancy way of saying "SHIT"

this is still an improvement over what the USO brought while I was there. I did get to meet Henry Rollins, but all he did was sign autgraphs and pose for pics, nothing else. I also caught Ted Nugent, which would have been cool if he had left Toby Keith in Europe somewhere. Then, for the 4th of July we got some lame, female AC/DC tribute band, that sucked ass, and weren't even good looking. Trust me, after that shit, Adema should sound pretty good to the troops...at least better than what was being pawned off as entertainement last year...
