MARDUK Drummer Was Protecting Friend When Attacked With Baseball Bat

Swedish black/death metallers THE LEGION, featuring current MARDUK drummer Emil Dragutinovic, have issued the following statement regarding the incident over the weekend that resulted in Emil suffering a broken arm and unable to embark on MARDUK's previously announced European tour:
"On Saturday night [February] 12th, our drummer Emil and a close friend to the band was attacked by a group of five immigrants. Emil was trying to protect this friend of ours when a dude with a baseball bat suddenly attacked him. When trying to defend himself from the severe beating he broke his left arm. Emil's friend got seriously maltreated and is now hospitalised. Emil is now in plaster and he's unable to play the drums for some months. This means that the upcoming tour with MARDUK (Emil's other band) gets postponed and the recording of our new album gets delayed for a while too. This really sucks since we've had the new material ready for some time now and we where just waiting for Emil to be done with the tour."
THE LEGION's debut album, "Unseen To Creation", was released in October 2003 through France's Listenable Records. The CD, which was recorded at Abyss Studios with producer Tommy Tägtgren, features "ten songs of complex and eclectic black/death metal, ranging in style from MORBID ANGEL to SETHERIAL." The cover art was done by Kris Verwimp, who has previously worked with MARDUK, ABSU, and IMMORTAL, among others.

i feel sorry for the drummer. but they shouldn't victimise immigrants for this. it's narrow minded. immigrants have nothing to do with this incident. it could have easily been another Swede who picked the fight.

Haha, I doubt it. Not in sweden.
A sad thing though.. The press in Scandinavia has an irritating tendency to ALWAYS mention if someone got jumped by "Immigrants" or just got plain jumped. it's as if the press only wants to cover crime committed by people called Mohammed. Sad thing.

immigrants always get blamed? well, obviously there's a reason for it. and what are they suppose to say? that it was swedes who did it even though it was immigrants just so the immigrants don't get blamed? all they said was that they got beaten by immigrants, because it was immigrants who did. it's fact, they're not blaming anyone.

Does being an immigrant have to do with the outline or character?
Why do people need to generalize something to help them sort through their own "garbage bag"?

i think it matters. because immigrants really needs to show good behaviour and gratitude when they are taken and welcomed in to another land and obide the law. it's these kind of immigrants that gives the all the goodhearted and good people. it's those kind of immigrants that ruins the reputation for all the good immigrants out there. so therefore i think it's good to mention that they were immigrants.

in scandinavia they usually in prees dont cover ppls backgrounds even natives or immigrants...its that freedom of speech thing u know our goverment and prees are 2 different things...

I'm from Sweden and i believe the Swedish papers and other media is often protecting the immigrants, it's not always there fault so on and so on but when it is the Swedich goverment cant take cause they let them in
