Well, this is being released by another record label... old labels of bands will release and rereleased greatest hits of the old stuff they still have the rights to so they can make money, and it's not the bands idea.

This is being released by Legacy Recordings, which is why I am not against it. Legacy are the ones responsible for all of those "The Essential [insert band here]" compilations, like the awesome Satriani, Vai, and Springsteen comps. And they're owned by Epic Records, which is Priest's label.

metalology is way better.....approved by the band, more tracks, includes ripper and the DVD alone is worth it!

I already have those complete albums on vinyl AND cd.......fuck that record company for diluting the catalog

Sounds good to me -- I'll just throw my copy of Vitalogy in the fire and buy whatever the band releases.

Nah, on second thought I'll skip this, download the new one, and delete it within a week because it's shit.

Beam me up!

....or you don't know your Priest albums too well. All this collection contains is BRITISH STEEL, POINT OF ENTRY, and SCREAMING FOR VENGEANCE with the bonus tracks on the remasters. Look at the track listings. This is not really a new compilations, just packaging three CD's together in one box.

are ok in my book considering im too young to have been able to buy those original releases for bands, so its a good way to actually buy the music, Like Soundtrack to the Apocalypse. I love priest, but the skynyrd box set is still definately next on the list.

As when did Victim of changes appear on one of those three albums mentioned...

Problem with this release seems to be the title. It's not a collection, but as someone said British Steel, Point Of Entry, Screaming For Vengeamce with one bonus track each. If you'd known your Priest you should have discovered this though, instead of just throwing out stupid comments.

I own every Priest CD (with the exception of Turbo & Ram it down), including the 20 years Metal works, just bought the Metalogy package. Why would people buy ANOTHER 3+ cd package with all the same stuff on it. I'd rather see some vintage DVD stuff (tours & whatever) than releasing the same songs over & over.

KULL i think its '' uncool '' to own those two albums=))))...most ppl may have it, admitting it is another thing=)...they had their bright moments albeit in patches and the video for turbo is another thing altogether=)

from Turbo - two excellent and overlooked Priest songs.

Obviously this is because most people listening to that album smashed it to a thousand pieces halfway through "Wild Nights, Hot N' Crazy Days" if they even got that far into the record!

Oh yeah - "Out in the Cold" - 'nother great one from that alb.

The more the better! No one is forcing you to buy this.

OF COURSE it's for the $$$. Mostly going to the record company but I'm sure Priest isn't complaining either. The more their catalog gets out there, the more fans hear 'em, etc.

Discerning longtime fans know whether a release like this is worth their time.

The bottom line: all the compilations and DVDs and books flowing out mean one thing - metal is big business again. Those of you in towns usually avoided won't be complaining when Priest (or whomever) rolls into to rock.

It's a great time to be a metalhead.
