BLACK LABEL SOCIETY And ROB ZOMBIE For OZZFEST

Word has it that BLACK LABEL SOCIETY and ROB ZOMBIE have both secured slots on the 10-year-anniversary edition of Ozzfest, with Zakk Wylde's troupe slated to kick off the proceedings on the main stage. Meanwhile, ZOMBIE, MUDVAYNE and KILLSWITCH ENGAGE are said to be in the mix for the smaller second stage, which is expected to feature more non-rotating slots this summer compared to the last couple of years.
As exclusively reported by BLABBERMOUTH.NET on Tuesday, IRON MAIDEN are set to co-headline the entire event with BLACK SABBATH, although recent reports indicate that OZZY OSBOURNE (with Zakk Wylde on guitar) may attempt to stage a solo performance at this year's festival. Also expected to perform on the main stage is the "Among the Living" lineup of ANTHRAX, which has already been confirmed for three European festivals this spring/summer (Holland's Dynamo Open Air on May 7, Sweden's Sweden Rock on June 9-11 and Italy's Gods of Metal on June 11-12) prior to their appearance at Ozzfest.
Last year's Ozzfest was one of the heaviest in the tour's history, featuring SABBATH, a reunited JUDAS PRIEST, SLAYER, SLIPKNOT, LAMB OF GOD, HATEBREED, DIMMU BORGIR and others.

Black Label Society is a given. Mudvayne & Killswitch are probably true (especially since Roadrunner is supposedly putting 6 bands on the fest this year). Rob Zombie would be a wonderful surprise if true, although I had figured he'd spend the summer writing music for his new album and doing PR for Devil's Rejects.

...Sabbath is enough Ozzy for one night, especially if they play their standard set. Maiden and Anthrax are cool, BLS was suspected, haven't they opened the fest for the last two or three years running now? I'd love to see Megadeth added, as well as Kreator, Exodus, Overkill or perhaps the Testament reunion.
Zombie headlining the second stage? Interesting, but it will be stripped down version of his usual over the top stage show. I'd like to see Fear Factory again on the second stage as well, but Ray has told me they weren't approached.

Killswitch and Mudvayne = GAY
Rob Zombie is ok.
BLS is expected. I guess this means they won't be touring with Queensryche and Judas Priest now and Dio will get that tour spot.
Anthrax, Maiden, and Sabbath - Fucking sick. Perfect 1-2-3 punch follow up to last years amazing Slayer, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath. Can't forget about Dimmu either last year though.
I think Megadeth should do Ozzfest. Put them on between Maiden and Anthrax.

the last time i had to sit through rob zombie's set, was pantera, eyehategod, and white zombie in san antonio '96. the dude barely could finish a song, christ the crowd had his mic as much as he did.
he blows, no need for zombie to take up a valuable space that could go to a band with actual talent.

great fucking band. i'd love to see them with Ozzy this year since Rob Halford had to step in last year (even though that alone was worth the ticket price)

another great band. i'd LOVE to see them live.
Anthrax ("Among The Living" lineup)
that would be great. Among The Living is an excellent album and to see the classic Anthrax lineup back together would be great!
Black Label Society
saw them at last year's fest. they were great. hopefully, this year, they can mix it up a bit more instead of just playing songs from The Blessed Hellride and Hangover Music.
Mudvayne
meh... alright band wouldn't mind checking them out. i've always liked them more than Slipknot anyways. plus for a nu metal band, they have a little more in the musicianship department than most which is something i've always appreciated about them.
Rob Zombie
this one came out of left field. the only "confirmation" that i'm really suspicious about. i thought he had like 10 other projects he was working on instead of a new album? but seeing as this is the last year, maybe they're just trying to get like a "best of" of all the bands that have played in years past along with some bands that haven't played before.
Killswitch Engage
i heard these guys were heavily rumored for Warped Tour. plus, Roadrunner has so many other bands with newer releases that could benifit much more from Ozzfest.
A Dozen Furies
did we all forget about this band? the only band that's ACTUALLY OFFICIALLY CONFIRMED! uh yeah... okay band but they're definately just another metalcore band that'll get lost in the wash.

White Zombie is actually like the first show I saw, their first tour in good old Spokane, WA. I was like 13-14yr old kid who went to Catholic school. I'd never been in a pit before and I got fucked up, kicked in the head, and somehow pissed off some big biker dude who decked me and almost knocked me out. Good memories... fortunately I've learned how not to get fucked up in the pit.

besides King never sold his albums on a "major label" level...

There's not alot of metal festivals touring through the states in the summertime so if you've got some $ saved up.....go check out some Iron f**king Maiden. The Maiden will tear it up just like Judas Priest did last year..........Up The Irons!!!!!!

u are right abt it bein all abt money but then again they are not running a public service organisation=))))))))...in a way havin an ozzfest helps as it exposes ppl to some decent metal bands n ppl who get into metal can then start exploring better bands which will never play on ozzfest.........in a way it does somethin similar to what dimmu n cradle do for the black metal scene=)..its a huge marketing success that ozzy n co have managed to stay relevant in times where ppl s tastes are very fickle......but i do hope the ozzfest can give some above mentioned bands a slot...............

FUCK ZAKK WYLDE. it seems like virtually all of his touring is being on the same redundant slot at Ozzfest every year. personally his set every year is when i take a leak. what a waste of a slot year in year out. he's NOTHING without Ozzy just pointing out the obvious.
also, why have Rob Zombie on there? that seems kinda pointless.
how about Machine Head, Chimaira, Shadows Fall, Sevendust, Sepultura, Soulfly, In Flames, Soilwork, Black Dahlia Murder, some stuff like that on there? those bands look like a fairly decent pool of bands for the Osbournes to choose from.

Hey Sharon ...don't you guys have enough money? over 100.00 for a ticket...sure its great for the majority of kiddies...with nothing to do...us older folks would like to see bands at small venues like local bars and small hole in the wall joints for $8-20.00 a show to enjoy music for what it is really about...being a part of it and hanging with people somewhat in your own age group.....I miss FIRST AVE in Minneapolis...saw alot of kick ass shows there, places like that are great!@.........I think all these money hungry corporate bastards are losing the fucking focus here...................it is about bands loving to play music and fans enjoying to feel a part of the show and AFFORDING the chance to go.
LETS GET BACK TO THE BASICS.......these bands still make money and we don't need to line the pockets of greedy millionaires who could never spend their money in their lifetime anyway.....

By the way ..I love the osbournes but....I think in general it's about how much can we profit instead of what is in the fans best interest and putting on a great show...............too much greed.....I think even Sharon has lost the focus..along with tons of other bands and managers and record companies......

I can get the hating on mudvayne but why Killswitch? Oh well .; they are supposedly confirmed for warped tour, according to one site; so unless they bailed or are only doing half of each tour they aren't happening
