SHADOWS FALL And THE HAUNTED Lined Up For This Year's OZZFEST - Feb. 25, 2005
Century Media recording artists SHADOWS FALL and THE HAUNTED have secured slots at this year's Ozzfest, informed sources have told BLABBERMOUTH.NET. SHADOWS FALL are expected to appear on the main stage while THE HAUNTED are said to be in the mix for the smaller second stage, which will apparently feature more non-rotating slots this summer compared to the last couple of years. Other acts believed to have been selected for the 10-year-anniversary edition of Ozzfest are BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, ROB ZOMBIE, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE and MUDVAYNE. IRON MAIDEN are strongly rumored to have nabbed the co-headlining slot alongside BLACK SABBATH, who will make a series of European live appearances in June/July prior to the Ozzfest U.S. kick-off. Also expected to perform on the main stage is the "Among the Living" lineup of ANTHRAX, who have yet to officially confirm their "reunion" plans despite having already been announced for four European festival appearances this spring/summer (Holland's Dynamo Open Air on May 7, Sweden's Sweden Rock on June 9-11, Italy's Gods of Metal on June 11-12 and France's Fury Fest on June 24-26).

Last year's Ozzfest was one of the heaviest in the tour's history, featuring SABBATH, a reunited JUDAS PRIEST, SLAYER, SLIPKNOT, LAMB OF GOD, HATEBREED, DIMMU BORGIR and others.

I caught The Haunted and Shadow's Fall live while they were touring with Damagedplan. They both execute godly live shows. Didn't bother to stay for Damagedplan.

this is going to be a good one, if this is true. rip on mudvayne, rip on SF, Rip on the haunted, KSE, whoever is trendy to call posers and sellouts for the day...

But its going to jam out, and just like last year, will definitely be worth the money to see legends like iron maiden and anthrax (if its true) and some of the best new-era metal around. throw the horns and rock out, everyone.

The Haunted are decent but their other band Witchery rules, I would love to see them instead. When is Ozzfest going to get someone like Blind Guardian, Hammerfall, Firewind, Symphony X, Gamma Ray, at least one or two Power/Prog bands.
That festival either books the classic bands or noisey Mallcore/Nu Metal. Such a boring and predictable fest.

what is it with shadows fail getting on every tour? they haven't put anything good out since their first album with phil (now in all that remains).... they are completely unoriginal and there is nothing special about them not to mention the singer needs to bath and smells... especially if you live in new england like me.. thats all you ever hear... shadows fall this and that... would a boulder just crush them already... amen to that.... ozzfest needs more REAL metal and less core.. replace mudvayne and shadows fail with like Iced Earth or Symphony X.... or even death metal like morbid angel... Needs less core though.. Maiden and anthrax is good though...

I was an assisstant to a Gibson guitar sales rep, Zakk was one of his clients, among many others. I liked Zakk's music, but when I got to hang out with him, he treated me like I was family. really went out of his way to be hospitible. When you get to see who Zakk really is, you just love the guy. So when he formed B.L.S. I said I will support the society any way I can. All the guitarists that I got to meet Zakk & Dime are the best. Their two that will do anything to make the situation unforgettable.

Maiden do their own tour? With Mastodon opening? I've never gone to an Ozzfest show (the year Tool was on it was the only one I even considered attending), and this year's lineup won't entice me to break that streak.

blessed be.
