MÖTLEY CRÜE: Summer Tour To Feature SUM 41 And THE EXIES

MÖTLEY CRÜE will join with several other hard rock bands for a larger package for the first month of their upcoming summer North American tour, among them SUM 41 and THE EXIES in select cities, according to Billboard.com. The first North American leg wraps May 1. The band will then play Europe and pick up again July 26 in Los Angeles for dates through Oct. 16 in Sioux City, Iowa, under the Carnival Of Sin tour banner. "This tour was not only great for MÖTLEY CRÜE but, as the first major tour of 2005, it's great for the business, especially with everyone coming off such a horrific year," the group's booking agent, Pete Papalardo, told Billboard.com. I am going to say that this is a fucking joke. First off, the Exies suck ass. Secondly, SUM41 had some credibility, due to their metal roots. After this shit, I will have to say that this is going to be a joke tour.

The fact that they sold more tickets could be due to the fact they have been around for a long time. They are also know for more than their music. They are one of the biggest media hype machines I have ever witnessed. Guns N' Roses comes to mind as another.
I have seen the Crue live at least 8 times and they will NEVER EVER top what I have witnessed when seeing King Diamond, Morbid Angel, or In Flames live.

When those bands start purchasing songs from bands like Simple Plan for their greatest hits album then you can use their names in the same breath. Metallica sold out. You can use them in the same breath!

This is where you really have no idea. Both Meshuggah and In Flames have more talent and kick ass in them than the Crue. Just because neither are fashion conscience doesn't mean they suck. The crues music has always been easy and simple to follow. That means that more people will be able to understand them and therefore like them.
The Crue at one time was the shit! I was there during that time. My problem is that they haven't attempted to do any shit that means anything for this big reunion of original dudes. No real music to speak of. Just more hype and stupid bs.

Why not THE BRIDES !! HELL Nikki jumped ship.You'd think he'd want to help them out a little.And I seen the CRUE in Detroit and Cleveland and both shows were great (Detroit was much better though) But I do think the summer tour will not be as good.They won't be able to bring in the whole production,or play the setlist they are now because of curfews in the sheds.But I will say I think it's good to have an opener.(not these two)Just didn't seem right to go to a show and see the headliner play ,leave & Night over.Went fast.Plus you preety much know when the openers done you have 15 to 20 minutes to grab a piss and a beer.

What the hell is a band like that and the Exies doing touring with a band like Crue? Man that's like Blink 182 opening for Judas Priest. I really don't give a shit about Crue as I have seen them several times since they started but only because they were opening or had an opening band that I liked at the time. But still...Sum 41? Who and what the hell are they? I heard a few of their tunes but they just sound like any other thing out there right now. Boring as hell. They outta get Stephen Pearcy and Ratt with maybe another 80's band up there with them. That would make more sense to me than the Exies.

I wish the fans were able to select the opening groups. Both those choices are weak.
ALICEINCHAINS2: Make sure to scream out Supagroup's name in their ears after each flogging so that they'll get the message. I still feel like I let down one of their biggest fans when I missed out on that band during their tour with Alice Cooper last October.
