ROB ZOMBIE, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, AS I LAY DYING Secure Non-Rotating Slots At OZZFEST 2005

ROB ZOMBIE, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE and AS I LAY DYING have secured three non-rotating slots on the second stage of this year's Ozzfest, informed sources have told BLABBERMOUTH.NET. Other acts believed to have been confirmed for the second stage include THE HAUNTED, MASTODON and BURY YOUR DEAD.
Although there has been no official confirmation on the matter, the 10th edition of Ozzfest is expected to be headlined by BLACK SABBATH and IRON MAIDEN. Also believed to be in the running for the festival's main stage are BLACK LABEL SOCIETY and the classic "Among the Living" lineup of ANTHRAX. Other rumored main-stage acts are MEGADETH, DISTURBED and SHADOWS FALL.
As reported here on Monday, an Ozzfest representative has told BLABBERMOUTH.NET that the lineup and dates for this year's travelling festival will be announced at a press conference "mid-March."

I'm not big on Rob Zombie, but he does put on a good stage show. There will always be some bands that suck, even big kick ass European metal fests usually end up with a clunker or two mixed in. But really, there's only 2 or 3 really bad bands that are rumored to be on it this year and that's pretty damned good.

I saw the video for "94 Hours" for the first time this weekend. As I Lay Dying sure are pretty cookie-cutter. JFC, Metal Blade, sign some bands with expanding vocal range again please?
Some solo Rob Zombie is good but on the whole was not worth splitting up White Zombie over.

This lineup is very safe, predictable and tired. Having been to the l
ast 4 years I can tell you it won't be five.
Rob Zombie? He still makes music?
Shadows Fall? KSE? The Boston metal core scene is crap and
they all sound the same.
Disturbed? What the fuck is this? Disturbed?
Remember, this is my opinion and it ain't worth shit but neither is
tour. Go out on on limb and get some real metal on there.

I've listened to all the discs... it's all boring garbage... the guy can't write a fucking song to save his life.
The only reason his band is within 500 feet of any Ozzfest show is because he plays in Ozzie's band.
BLS has ZERO right to be on the mainstage... second stage yea but not the mainstage.

this has got to be one of the best line ups I have seen for the fest, only one more band and I think I would be the happiest through in some fear factory and life would be perfect. Dear god, If they get Sabbath, Maiden, Megadeth, Anthrax main stage. That'd be fucking sick. I'd love to see Slayer up there too, but they'll prolly do a seperate tour if they do a Summer Tour. I think it'd be cool to just throw Mastodon main stage as the opener.

Last year had an amazing main stage with Sabbath, Priest, Slayer, and Superjoint (ozzfest isn't the same without Phil) and Slipknot on the side stage with Lacuna Coil, but that was it. If this is the way it is shaping up this year then I might have to go. Sharon needs to look at all of our comments to see what we want.
