JUDAS PRIEST: 'Angel Of Retribution' To Debut At No. 12 On BILLBOARD Chart
- Mar. 8, 2005
|
|
|
According to Hits Daily Double, JUDAS PRIEST have sold approximately 58,500 copies of their new album, "Angel of Retribution", during its first week of release to debut at position No. 12 on next week's The Billboard 200 chart. PRIEST reportedly saw significant sales from their release in the DualDisc configuration, with approximately half of the total sales coming from the new entertainment product which combines music, film and video on a single, two-sided disc.
The first side of every DualDisc contains a full-length audio album while the DVD side features a wide range of exclusive content such as the same album in enhanced sound (such as 5.1 Surround Sound or enhanced LPCM stereo), music videos, interviews, photo galleries, web links, concert footage, lyrics and more. DualDiscs play on existing CD and DVD hardware devices such as DVD players, car stereos, PCs, game consoles and CD players.
The DVD side of JUDAS PRIEST's "Angel of Retribution" DualDisc features a 30-minute documentary on the reuniting of the band as well as classic JUDAS PRIEST tracks recorded live in Spain in June 2004, including "Breaking the Law", "Diamonds and Rust", "Helion/Electric Eye", "Touch of Evil", "Metal Gods", "Hell Bent for Leather" and "Living After Midnight".

Take that MTV, Corporate Rock Radio, Nu-Metal Trolls...and shove it directly up your fat fucking asses. Judas "Fucking" Priest is back! It really says a lot that a band who has been at it for over 30 years, can release an album as good as AOR is and have it sell that well.

Nice to see this debut at a high position on the charts, but it will probably make a quick fall down the charts the next week. Sad to say, but metal albums always do.

I love metal and hard rock.
I am like Dimebag meets Carrot Top.
I jam Overkill one day and Vinnie Vincent Invasion the next.
The real enemy is rap music!= look at the charts, look at MTV... Though neither mean a thing to real people like us;-)

Is it me or is anyone else sick of hearing Living after Midnight and Breaking the Law? Bust out Rapid Fire, Exciter and DROP these songs from the setlist guys, I've already seen them played enough and I'm sick of paying again and again to see them! Don't give me this trademark crap because they have alot of material, just stay away from ram it and turbo!

I'm with flaKISSfan1....I'm 35 and love metal as much as when I was 13, but I barely know anyone my age buying CD's or looking forward to new releases.
Still, great to see The Priest back together as should be and in the Top 20.
PS....Mafia CD is disappointing to me today. Good CD, but Zakk has done tons better!
