RAINBOW To Reunite For Tour?
- Mar. 9, 2005
|
|
According to a posting on The Dio Message Board, RAINBOW may reform for a series of live shows after all. Word has it that Ronnie James Dio's wife Wendy's management company Niji Management may be looking at getting the members of the group back together for a number of live appearances. The lineup at this stage looks to be as follows: Ronnie James Dio (vocals), Ritchie Blackmore (guitar), Jimmy Bain (bass) and Vinny Appice (to replace the late Cozy Powell). While there has been no official statement on the matter, the posting adds that "there is truth behind this rumor" and "this is 100 percent genuine."

...could you be any more insecure? Rainbows existed long before anyone stuck their dick in another guys ass, so i don't know how they can be "gay"
anyway, this would be awesome if it happened. I'm not the biggest Rainbow fan, but if the tix were affordable, and I have some extra cash, i'd probably try to go.

RISING was one of the greatest in hard rock history! Bummer about Cozy (Dio has said in the past that's why he wouldn't do Rainbow again) but I would LOVE to see Ritchie ROCK again! Tell your wife to go darn some socks!

...I'd be there in a heartbeat, too.
I wonder what they'd be playing, though. They'd better stick to pre-Down To Earth material. What about 15-minute versions of some classics, with much improv, like on the double CD "Live in Germany"? I'd have to put on a new pair of underpants then :-)
I hope this will happen, but I hope it won't be like seeing the original line-up of Deep Purple on the "Battle Rages On" tour, which was quite a letdown.
And it had better not be Japan-only!

Nice to see that Ronnie will be playing with Jimmy Bain and Vinnie Appice again. Now if only Ronnie would be able to settle his differences with Vivian Campell and get "funky" Claude Schnell out of retirement...
On keyboards I'd prefer Don Airey. If Jimmy Bain and Vinnie Appice can't make it, Bob Daisley on bass and Bobby Rondinelli on drums wouldn't be bad either.

Rainbow is a revolutionary band. Perhaps the first band to start the trend of Neo Classical Power Metal style.

This band on the fucking diety level. And, whomever said that Rainbow is a gay name needs to remember that rainbows did not take on a gay connotation until the early '90s. Somehow I get the feeling that this person isn't old enough to know that. Before that, they were everywhere and a sign of progessiveness and excitement.
