STAIND Name New Album - Mar. 10, 2005
MTV News is reporting that STAIND have set "Chapter V" as the title of their fifth album and the band's first album on Flip/Atlantic Records. While a definitive street date hasn't been firmed up yet (STAIND singer Aaron Lewis' wife is pregnant and due in May, "so it will be sometime shortly after that," guitarist Mike Mushok said), the record is expected to drop early this summer. Mushok added that the band intends to spend most of the summer touring in support of "Chapter V"; but again, the imminent birth of Lewis' child has put finalizing those plans on hold for now.

Mushok said "Chapter V" will feature 11, maybe 12, new STAIND tunes, among them "Paper Christ" and "Falling", along with "Right Here", a strong contender for the album's lead-off single.

"I know right now that I could play our new record, beginning to end, and not have any problem with it," Mushok said. "I don't think I felt that with [2003's '14 Shades of Grey'] for some reason. I mean, I loved that record. I'm proud of it, and I thought there were some really good songs on there, but it really didn't turn out exactly the way I wanted. This new record, to me, has that feeling — that when I am playing a song for someone, I'm sitting there, looking forward to playing the next song for them and the song after that."

i was thinking maybe they would break up since all was quiet and aaron was doing some solo shows and bam! suddenly there's a new album just like that. AND audioslave album details are a few posts below this one. So in one year i get new system, audioslave and staind albums.
*pniches himself*
This is going to make up for a pretty crappy past year in terms of concerts... Three of my favourite bands that are still playing together...it's just killer!

that's what their fans expect of them.
I used to really dig these guys, but now the only reason I'm glad that they're around is that no matter what happens in my life or what I've gone through, I'll NEVER be that much of a pussy.
To hear them whine and cry like a bunch of prepubecent kids who aren't quite sure of their sexuality is an ego booster for me.

COMMENT | there's no crying in metal!!!!!!!

'mudshovel' and 'Go'-solid songs...but damn, I can't listen to this depressing shit anymore. It doesnt have the Gothic 'light at the end of the tunnel' vibe that the Cure had. Gotta hope they grew up some. Aaron, Geez dude, lighten up!

...and if anyone does think the Cure was heavy go listen to "Pornography"-that album was heavier than the metal out at that time...

COMMENT | If they really want to get across how sad they are...

maybe they should just record a cd of them offing themselves. I might buy that.

I hate complaint rock.

COMMENT | 14 Shades wasn't what I would consider crying and whining.

I'm not sure what everyone else is hearing. I can't argue that Break the Cycle was quite whiny, but the songs on 14 Shades are more about him moving on and being in a better place. The songs that you probably consider whiny seem like they were made to be helpful to others with problems, not for himself.

COMMENT | why are they even on a metal board?

I don't get why Staind, Muddle of Pudd, Saliva and all those other bands are mentioned on this website. They are not what any of us would consider metal, or even heavy for that matter. I guess either the website admin likes these bands or someone is getting some considerable cash to advertise them here.

Aaron Lewis would've been a good mugging victim

....those limo rides and constant blowjobs must be a real drag. I'll bet they're just wishing they could leave all that behind and go back to the good ol' days of selling shoes, working at McDonalds, shovelling horse shit at the race track or whatever the fuck they did before they got their big break. Fucking whining pussies.

Did Chuck Schuldiner (RIP) ever whinge about his brain tumor? Fuck no! He held his head up, faced it with dignity and grace, and although unfortunately he left us, he also left us with an amazing body of work that will continue to inspire for years. What the fuck has Aaron Lewis ever given us, except music to slash your wrists by?

Man, I can't believe it. This dude's got a wife, but I'm still jerkin' off. Life is a weird-ass motherfucker of a bitch.

naming an album after the number of albums released is a shit effort, almost as effortless as a self titled album.
