OZZY OSBOURNE Compilation Offers OZZFEST Tie-In - Mar. 13, 2005
Bilboard is reporting that early purchasers of OZZY OSBOURNE's March 22 boxed set, "Prince of Darkness", will get a little bonus.

The initial pressing of the set will include a buy-one-get-one-free coupon for this summer's Ozzfest, valued at $40. To redeem, customers go to the Ozzfest.com web site and punch in the code on the coupon.

The Epic four-disc set covers Osbourne's solo years. It includes a disc of new recordings by Osbourne of his favorite tunes by other artists, including the ROLLING STONES' "Sympathy for the Devil" and ERIC BURDON's "Good Times".

The set's suggested list price is $49.98, although it will probably sell for closer to $40. Ozzfest's lineup is expected to be announced this month.

As previously reported, the following bands are believed to have secured slots at this year's festival:

BLACK SABBATH
IRON MAIDEN
ANTHRAX
("Among the Living" lineup)
SHADOWS FALL
BLACK LABEL SOCIETY
ROB ZOMBIE
KILLSWITCH ENGAGE
AS I LAY DYING
THE HAUNTED
MASTODON
TRIVIUM
BURY YOUR DEAD
A DOZEN FURIES
("Battle for Ozzfest" winners)

Yeah, but you get a bunch of classic Ozzy songs, except with brand new re-recorded and modern-sounding drum and bass tracks, for practically nothing! Spot the shining beacons of sarcasm in that sentence.

Why do they keep refering to Anthrax as the ("Among the Living line-up") only. It's also the same line up that did Armed and Dangerous '85, State of Euphoria '88, Persistence of Time '90 and Spreading the Disease '85.

This lineup is weak. When is Ozzy doing a solo gig at Ozzfest? The classic lineup of Anthrax will be cool but this lineup is not even close to last eyar.

Watch, Megadeth's summer package tour will kick Ozzfests ass as far as lineups go.

$40 to hear Ozzy duet w/ Miss Piggy, plus songs I already have? Don't think so...

I saw last years (went for free, my friend won tickets) it was a good, worth it for Priest alone. Don't know if it's worth $100 though...

...if you live in the states (or possibly Canada, if OzzFest travels thataways), but what's MY incentive? $40 US is about $80 NZ, which is about a third of my weekly pay (before expenses). Throw in a 12-Pack of Speights, a carton of Rothmans, some tasty Chicks-With-Dicks Europorn, and I MIGHT think about buying this pathetic attempt at a cashgrab. Maybe.

Mmm... Beer... c(_)

There's usually at least one crap ass Godsmack or Limp Biscuit somewhere in the show. This time the weakest link is Zombie and he actually puts on a hell of a show. I'm not big on his music, but he is usually pretty damned fun to watch.
