ARCH ENEMY Comment On OZZFEST Appearance

Swedish/German extreme metallers ARCH ENEMY have commented on their upcoming appearance at this year's Ozzfest, which is scheduled to kick off July 15 in Boston. Massachusetts. ARCH ENEMY will be performing on the second stage at the traveling festival alongside ROB ZOMBIE, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, AS I LAY DYING, MASTODON, A DOZEN FURIES, THE HAUNTED, IN FLAMES, THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, BURY YOUR DEAD, IT DIES TODAY, SOILWORK and TRIVIUM.
Stated ARCH ENEMY guitarist Michael Amott: "We are very much looking forward to being a part of the legendary Ozzfest this year and spending the summer in the U.S....playing our brand of PURE FUCKING METAL and making new friends! BLACK SABBATH and IRON MAIDEN (and ARCH ENEMY!!!) on the same tour — now THAT is awesome...we are happy and honored to be a part of metal history!"

I can't fucking believe it. Last year I arrived at Ozzfest as early as one can concievably get there, and all the 2nd stage bands except Lacuna Coil sucked IMO. My friends & I agreed we wouldn't show up next time before main stage started, but the 2nd stage lineup looks awesome so now I'm not sure what to do...

I complete agreement with you. Getting recognition is the least metal thing a band can do. If they sell records, they're obviously trying to be like Britney Spears. I mean... that's so fucking obvious. There's so many metal bands selling out these days. They aren't remaining true to underground values. Arch Enemy need to get back to their underground roots and not play anything. That way, by not even using musical instruments, they're being truly underground! That I could respect...

Killswitch and Shadows Fall have already toured to death supporting their new albums... They seem to come around every other month! Give someone else a chance...

speaking about getting recoginition, people always bash heavy bands that get big but yet their the same people who complain about the current state of mainstream, its like they cry about it until it happens then they dont know how to react so they start bashing the successful bands
