ARCH ENEMY Complete Drum Tracks For New Album - Mar. 19, 2005
Swedish/German extreme metal act ARCH ENEMY are currently recording the follow-up to 2003's "Anthems of Rebellion" for a tentative late summer release. The latest installment of drummer Daniel Erlandsson's studio diary follows:

"I have just finished recording all the drum tracks for the new ARCH ENEMY album!

"The drumming on this album is more varied than on 'Anthems…' That's mainly because the songs themselves are more varied, but I also wanted the playing to have more of everything without taking too much space... So expect some more double kicks and fills. I'm also happy to say that we've used blast beats for the first time in years, you can't go wrong with that!

"Working with Rickard Bengtsson as a producer has turned out very good, he really pushed me to do better on the kit, maybe he pushed me a bit too far, he-he!…

"Early next week the Amott bros are starting their recording sessions, which I know they're absolutely stoked about! They've been looking anxious to get to it — and now it is time for them to rip!"

Arch Enemy is cool and all, Anthems was a solid release: however i think Ammott's best work was definately with Carcass

Im a big Arch Enemy fan, as Ive seen them live 10 times exactly. I can honestly say that while AOR is decent, it's nothing compared to its predecessor Wages of Sin, which in turn is, even though a very solid album, not as good as the first three albums. Ill take Black Earth and Burning Bridges any day.
