JUDAS PRIEST/QUEENSRŸCHE Tour To Last Eight Weeks, Cover Outdoor Arenas - Mar. 24, 2005
QUEENSRŸCHE frontman Geoff Tate revealed during an appearance on last night's "Rockline" nationally syndicated radio show that the group's upcoming tour with JUDAS PRIEST will last eight weeks and will cover mostly outdoor arenas.

As BLABBERMOUTH.NET reported earlier today, a source at Epic Records told Launch Radio Networks that the PRIEST/QUEENSRŸCHE North American tour will kick off on May 31 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Further dates and cities, as well as venues, could be announced as early as next week. A third band my also be added to the bill.

Tate recently told "The Hairball John Radio Show" that the group are planning on concentrating on their early, pre-"Operation: Mindcrime" material for the setlist for the PRIEST tour. "We're gonna kind of go back to the first few records and play around with some of that and not play anything from 'Mindcrime' or the more modern stuff, we're gonna leave that alone," he said.

QUEENSRŸCHE are currently recording their new album, the next chapter to the 1988 ground-breaking concept album, "Operation: Mindcrime", tentatively titled "Operation: Mindcrime II". A late 2005 release is expected.

Everyone of the late 70's early 80's metal bands are either reforming or playing mostly old set lists.

Queensprog opening for Priest well whatever maybe there will be another band added to this bill later. Juust a personal opinion here but even with their old material Queensryche doesn't cut it.

The real fans didn't like anything past Empire. Any tour in the past 10 years didn't have early material in the set, and they got booed off the stage.

So now, it's all pre-Mindcrime? So the entire set is made up of The Warning and Rage for Order? You have to be kidding!!

Mindcrime is what made this band. Someone with common sense please slap this idiot in the head. The die hards gave up on this band already.
