STATIC-X Announce New Album Title, Release Date - Mar. 26, 2005
STATIC-X frontman Wayne Wells (a.k.a. Wayne Static) announced during the band's performance at The Galaxy in Santa Ana, CA Friday night (March 25) that their fourth full-length CD, "Start a War", will be released June 14 via Warner Bros. Records. The band also performed two tracks from the upcoming album: "I'm the One" and the projected title cut.

STATIC-X entered the studio in Los Angeles in October with producer Ulrich Wild to begin recording the album, the group's first with new drummer Nick Oshiro. Early STATIC-X guitarist Koichi Fukuda — who recently officially rejoined the band — handled the programming and keyboard duties during the recording process. Other new songtitles include "Hollow", "Otsego Amigo", "I Want To Fucking Break It" and "Night Terrors".

STATIC-X's last collection of new recordings, "Shadow Zone", was released in October 2003. A remix-and-rarities disc, "Beneath, Between, Beyond", featuring the band's soundtrack releases as well as early demos, exclusive remixes and never-before-heard material, came out last July.

As previously reported, Fukuda rejoined STATIC-X in early March as the replacement for Tripp Eisen, who was dismissed from the group late last month following reports that Eisen was arrested by authorities in two states on charges that include kidnapping, sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child. The charges stem from two separate incidents involving sexual relations with minors.

They have potential to be badass and get down and heavy. They had some good heavy grooves with Wisconsin Death Trip and hopefully can do it again.

I'll definitely have to pick up the album if it's longer then 38 some minutes this time. Maybe when they play live now they'll dedicate "I'm With Stupid (He's A Loser)" to Tripp.
