KORN Frontman To Once Again Collaborate With Rapper LIL JON - Mar. 29, 2005
According to a post on the KORN fan site KornWeb.cjb.net, KORN frontman Jonathan Davis revealed during an online chat Sunday (March 27) that he will once again be collaborating with rapper Lil Jon on an as-yet-untitled "crunk rock" song. Davis was said to be unsure if the track will end up on Lil Jon's next album or it will surface on an upcoming soundtrack. Jonathan also explained that he and Lil Jon have many things in common, including the fact that both artists have a 9-year-old son named Nathan.

KORN had previously collaborated with Lil Jon on a cover of PUBLIC ENEMY's "Fight the Power", but the rapper's contributions were subsequently replaced by those of XZIBIT — allegedly due to an unspecified "record company" issue. The KORN/XZIBIT collaboration will surface on the soundtrack for "XXX: State of the Union", due April 19 via Jive.

As previously reported, the recording sessions for KORN's as-yet-untitled follow-up to 2003's "Take a Look in the Mirror" are scheduled to begin on April 11. A September release is expected.

Fuck yeah, man. Lil' Jon rules and so does Korn. Now someone can answer the age old Korn question of "Are you ready?!" with a resounding "Yee-AAA-ah!"

i think this band should just call it quits, at the very least to preserve any credibility they may have left....but then again what the hell do i know, at least they havent made any attempts to jump on the emocore waggon, theyve simply just been doing the same thing for over a decade now, so if thats what makes them happy, then props i guess.

swear to fuckin' God, SWEAR TO FUCKIN' GOD I'M NOT MAKING THIS UP..........everyone knows about the butchering of 'Crazy Train' several months ago of course, swear to God i was flipping channels a few weeks ago, came across Lil Jon on MTV.....there was footage of him in the studio......using the following song just like 'Crazy Train', as part of a song......Slayer's "Reigning Blood".

no, i'm NOT kidding, he was actually using a sample of Reigning Blood in one of his fucking songs.

i immediately came to the realization that i HATE Lil Jon with a fucking passion for that blasphemous butchering of yet another heavy metal classic.

Ya know, we'e got some Rappers that seem to have a damn fine knoweldge of metal/rock and their willing to pay respect to it by using samples or covers and what not.

Yet when they do this it's blasphemy! Damn rappers should die!

Like serioly, these guys may play music you don't enjoy but atleast appreciate the fact that they've opened their ears much more than alot of ppl around here.

But you sould have payed attention to all of my post on these idiots and their blatant attempts to be hip-hop...

I'm not good with words (And really neither are any of you) but I do know one guy who is....

This article is from the page "www.geocities.com/atrocitiesofnoise"....

I hope you enjoy...

KoRn sucks!

Even then, with their first album, self-titled KoRn, they seemed to have the potential to become one of the bands that can be uncerimoniously strewn into the bottomlesss pit that is the Atrocities of Noise.

During this short period before Life is Peachy, the period in which the only glimpse of mediocrity escaped, (and such a minute glimpse at that!) they seemed to be unaffected by the hip-hop influence that is all too appearant on the next three atrocities.

What's with this rap shit? Ice Cube? What the hell is this world coming to when pop culture labels KoRn and its sister bands "metal"? It is not metal. And mixing rock (if you will) and rap produces a potent form of dogshit whose horrid sounds make the true metalheads feel ashamed that the people nowadays call that bullshit metal.

KoRn has started an international movement for the weak and stupid to feel like they belong. Never in my life have I seen more white boys with braids, and dear lord is it ugly. At least the way head does it it's ugly. Dexter Hollands braids were cool. But heads? All the mindless children's? No. Ugly shit. And maybe they think it's cool because they know that it is ugly, and it signifies that they don't care what people think about them, even thought the grim, true reality is that they care so much about what people think that they know it gives them the much needed attention in order to feed their insecurity and their impoverished ego. Ooo. That hurts. This movement that nurtures society's weak and unintelligent is pathetic.

Seven stringed guitars are gravely misused. Origionally, the seven stringed guitar was designed by Steve Vai in order to acheive a greater range of tones. I bet he wishes he never did it.

KoRn uses them to get a lower tone, a tone with heavy distortion, no bite, no edge, just a flat, low, shitty, disgusting tone. Riffs by these 2 stooges can be made by dropping that big bad Ibanez on the floor. "Ok, now for this riff, what you gotta do is, pull the strap off the strap button, and very precisely with your right hand, grab the neck about where it meets the body, and fling the guitar across the room. For a better tone, if you're lucky and on tour with Slipknot, you can fling it at number 8." Their noise is horribly unintelligent simple shit that is good for just about one thing: making money off the mindless. And it works great. No talent guitar bullshit.

The drums are tuned with the slack of your average, everyday lawnchair. But eh, they're low! Cool right?! Right guys?! Huh guys?! Yeah...it has no strength, no balls whatsoever. Real drums can be heard in songs with Dave Lombardo, Vinnie Paul, and Lars Ulrich. They have more balls that KoRn's drums ever will, Lombardo especially.

KoRn is shit, there's no two ways about it. With their shit came more bands, helping to carry on the shit tradition, and the universal movement for the fucking stupid of the world.

Yes ladies and gentlemen, this is my Holy Bible when it comes to my hatred of Korn, there are no other ways to describe the mediocrity of the band better than this......

Perhaps you guys in your Korn bashing, can too can better yourselves against the fans of these idiots and oncee and for all end mallcore for good...but this is just a suggestion....

That was a fair comment Primus Beastilator of Master One. HOWEVER, I am a huge Korn fan. Yes, you may call me mindless. And ugly. Actually, come to think of it, I am pretty ugly! I also play the drums and know of the drummers you have spoken of quite well. They are really good drummers, there is no doubt about it. I don't deny the fact that David Silveria irritates me. He is crapola holding a drum stick. Terrible. Well, not terrible, but just really basic and kinda 'not creative'.

I don't play guitar, so I can't comment on how 'good' or 'bad' Munky and Head are...well, just Munky now. Fieldy slaps his bass like it's going out of fasion, but also, I can't comment on how technical and good he is either. Jonathan Davis had a sook at the end of Daddy and everyone laughed and now he's getting fat. I suppose another one of those 'ugly' Korn traits.

HOWEVER, as a collective, as a group, as a band, as one sound, for some reason, I really like them. And not many people can deny the fact that other people like them too. They wouldn't be around if noone did.

I don't want to have a go at you or anything, but saying Korn is or isn't metal is a matter of opinion. Saying rap and rock shouldn't be mixed is also a matter of opinion. What they are doing now isn't my cup of tea, but I loved what they were doing back in the day. Self Titled was a rock milestone when it came out. And yeah, it paved the way for a lot of crappy bands, but those crappy bands, some of them, lots of them in fact, made a packet load of cash and sold truck loads of CD's. People liked it.

Maybe listening to Self Titled, Life is Peachy and FOllow the Leader NOW, it's not so special anymore. But when they came out, they were really good, and you can't deny that people liked it, and people still like it.

Take A Look in The Mirror maybe had 1 or two good songs on it, big deal. Issues sounded like an album full of B-Sides off Follow the Leader. Big Deal. But prior to that, they were making some really innovative and clever stuff.

Unfortunately, they get bagged coz people complain that they want another 'Self Titled' sounding CD out of them, so they make a 'heavy' CD with that trademark Korn sound, and it gets trashed coz people say it's 'the same as always' and 'they arent doing anything new' so then they experiment and collaborate with other artists and then you hear another bunch of people say 'what are they doing?'.

It's all a matter of opinion I guess, but I like Korn and you hate Korn, and everyone is going to be different. But I wouldn't say 'go home and stop making music to keepo whatever credability you have left' coz then what's the point with any band? You'll never please EVERYONE, so does that mean every band should 'go home' just coz a bunch of people say so? No, it doesn't.

Sorry, I've said my peice now.

People who try to speak for others, don't know how to take care of their own business. And have major problems and should learn to speak for themselves, but can't, because that's just a part of their problem. You know who are, but really don't have a clue. Am not speaking for anyone else when I say this.

Anyway, the closest thing to rap I (meaning myself, not anyone else) would ever want to get close to is Rage Against the Machine.

anytime you need to ask a rapper of all people for help, then it's time to hang up your axe and take up something else like cleaning urinals at a peeler bar.

but all this bullshit rap collaboration stuff isn't. I liked Children of the KoRn, but Play Me was crap (even tho I don't mind Nas...try listening to "I can" or better yet "bridging the gap" and see that not all rappers have nothing to say). However, collaborating with Ice Cube (who used to be worth listening too) and Nas is completely different to working with the latest MTV hyped novelty pop star. Why doesn't Jon worry about getting KoRn sorted out (can't believe you scrapped the solos after promising them!!) instead of someone else's album/soundtrack. On the plus side, the KoRn appearances on rap albums so far have amounted to guitar loops by Munky and Head, and guest vocals from Jon and Fieldy, so hopefully that's all this will be.
