Scotsman.com is reporting that
Ozzy and
Sharon's daughter
Aimee has been treated for a breast cancer scare, it was revealed today.
The pair pulled out of West End show
"The Vagina Monologues" last Friday saying only that
Aimee was suffering from an undisclosed illness.
But
Sharon said today that
Aimee, 21, had a lump removed from her breast and is now having more treatment in Los Angeles due to "complications."
In a statement, she said, "
Aimee's had a breast cancer scare. She found a lump on her breast which she’s had removed.
"The operation went very well on the whole but there have been a few minor complications and she will be having more treatment and lots of rest over the next few weeks. We're sure she'll make a complete recovery.
"Thanks so much for all of your support — you've all been fabulous. Health really is the most important thing in life. After the 12 months we've had, no one realizes that more than me.
"I promise to let you know the second that she gets the all clear."
Aimee was the only
Osbourne not to appear in the fly-on-the-wall
MTV documentary
"The Osbournes", which shot the family to worldwide stardom.
She refused to let cameras into her private life and has retained a low profile until recently, when she prepared to step into the limelight with a role in
"The Vagina Monologues".
But she and
Sharon announced on Friday they were pulling out because
Aimee was ill. At the time they did not say what was wrong with her.
The show opened on Tuesday and the producers were forced to find last-minute replacements.
The family immediately flew to Los Angeles where Aimee is receiving her treatment.
