OZZFEST 2005: Two More 'Mystery Band' Slots Added
- Apr. 8, 2005
|
|
|
Ozzfest's official web site, Ozzfest.com, has added two "mystery act" slots to their "Bands" page — one on the main stage and one on the second stage. The main-stage slot is widely expected to be filled by VELVET REVOLVER (who will reportedly join the tour on August 16 in West Valley City, UT before taking over IRON MAIDEN's slot beginning on August 23 in Albuquerque, NM), while there is no word yet on who will fill the second-stage "mystery" slot.
Ozzfest 2005 is scheduled to kick off July 15 in Mansfield, MA.

I second that 3 Inches of Blood notion. Good band. I'd also like to see Dark Tranquillity, or maybe even High on Fire take the spot for the second stage. Main stage hopefully won't be friggen Velvet Revolver. Same thing with like Disturbed. Far as I know, they're not booked for a tour this summer, and this would be a good slot for promoting the new album. God....please not Disturbed. My votes for Testament or Slayer

Victory records has been a round awhile. They have been promoting mullet killa bands for awhile. I saw their ads in Metal Maniacs way back in 97-98. At that time they were hyping this one band called........Hatebreed! (the baddest band on the planet btw)

Kreator, TestAmenT, Overkill, Exodus, Annihilator, Mercyful Fate, Celtic Frost, Ozzy solo!!!!, Hammerfall, Morbid Angel...i'm kinda blank right now.
BLS just needs to be dropped, they were BORING AS SHIT last year, and most of their songs aren't exactly exciting. Overkill kicks BLS in the head.

It'll be Anthrax, duh.
Even though Mustaine's got the Gigantour going on this summer, I would love to see a full-on THRASHFEST.

I can tell you all for sure that it isn't Dark Tranquillity, for any of you hoping it might be. I just talked to Martin (guitar) the other day after their show here in Buffalo, and one of my friends said that they should be on Ozzfest instead of fucking Mudvayne, and he said something along the lines of "Haha, well if you give us the $100,000 it costs to be on ozzfest then we will". (I think he was kidding, don't start a fund or anything)
anyway, for any of you reading this, GO SEE DARK TRANQUILLITY ON THEIR CURRENT TOUR!!! I was fucking blown away when I saw them. it was amazing.

is already on the Sounds of the Underground tour; they would miss the first two weeks of Ozzfest if they got the gig. I'm curious to see where Obituary ends up myself...headlining Gigantour's second stage, perhaps? Those of you still interested in Ozzfest had better hope that Jack O(ff) isn't picking these "mystery bands".
blessed be.

yes, I'll admit it.
I'd love to see some more "underground" bands on Ozzfest, but we all know that Velvet Revolver will be the "mystery" band on the main stage. And I'll give you my word that Anthrax will be the "mystery" band on the 2nd stage. The only bands worth a damn are already on the second stage. It's a perfect, yet highly anticipated/expected slot for the band. Don't hate. Just enjoy. They've had it coming for a looong time. I'm just glad that they're finally getting their due respect on such a highly marketed tour. Anthrax has never deviated from what they want to do musically, and when they're finally announced, I'll gladly throw down the $70 bucks to see their 30 minute set. Anyone and everyone that respects metal better go and check them out.
don't thank Sharon, just thank Anthrax for bending over backwards just to have the opportunity to bring you real metal.
see you all in the 2nd stage pit.
