ROBERT PLANT Rejects GRAMMY Criticism

ContactMusic.com is reporting that LED ZEPPELIN singer Robert Plant has hit back at his former bandmate Jimmy Page after the guitarist criticised him for not being present when the legendary rockers were awarded a Lifetime Achievement Grammy Award earlier this year.
Plant, 56, is so busy with his current musical projects he decided against flying to Los Angeles for the award ceremony, preferring to rehearse with his new band in England.
Plant is keen to look to the future and not dwell on his celebrated past.
He says, "Jimmy had a bit of a go at me for not being there, but what can you do? What I'm doing now is more important to me.
"It's great to look back and smile. But middle-aged self-congratulation is very dangerous."

He's got enough smarts not to waste time psatting himself on the back-he KNOWS the shit he did thirty years ago was great-he's living in the present day, making new music (Ozzy: take note).
When Plant isn't making new music, he's got enough class to stay out of the public eye (again, Ozzy: take note)

I never forgave Page for playing with Scantlin and Durst that time on tv. And let us not forget the P.Diddy incident.
I'm not a big fan of Plant's world music experiments but the guy loves his art and he's still got it live - so he is living in the moment and living it well.
I really don't see the harm in a couple of Led Zep shows with Grohl or Jason Bonham at the Royal Albert Hall with a lottery system to decide who goes. I can dream, I suppose.

It has been a few since Zep released an album. I can imagine Jimmy wished Robert would have showed. I doubt he really gives a shit though.
They are both doin' their own thing. Right on!

grammy or not he's part of led zepplin he should have been there, he wouldn't be where he is today if he hadn't been there, him not going ( reguardless of how bullshit a grammy is) is kind of him saying fuck Led Zepplin, and fuck all of you who think other wise JIMMY OWNS!

Plant is getting more press by NOT being there then by actually being there. Good for him. Imagine having to actually show up at that shit. He goes on right after Hoobastank and right before Tim McGraw. I don't think by NOT showing up to that shit that he is saying "fuck Led Zeppelin."

I fully agree with him, however - as a businessman him not attending Garammy awards is not good.
I guess he doesn't really care about his business.
Which is not bad. It's his choice.
