OZZY OSBOURNE: GUNS N' ROSES Is 'The Tragedy Of Last 20 Years'

In an interview with Alice Cooper (on his "Nights with Alice Cooper" radio show) that was posted online yesterday, Ozzy Osbourne spoke about the great rock bands of the past. "How more simple can you get than 'You Really Got Me' [by THE KINKS]?'. I bought that single and I played it until I had to buy another one," said Ozzy. Regarding his influences and the impact of THE BEATLES, he said, "I don't think there will ever be another BEATLES... it's melodic." He also made a comment about another rock band: "The tragedy of the last 20 years was GUNS N' ROSES... they were well up there... then Axl [ Rose] read the tealeaves in his cup and went nuts or something." Why can't he just realize that he's being pussywhipped? I saw him a while ago on Conan and he was great... Funny and not at all as messed up as he is when Sharon's around... He actually spoke coherently! I think Sharon's telling him to act a certain way to keep up appearances... But with the show gone and all he might actually begin acting normally... Either that or she fuckin' wears him out...
It's so sad to see it from the outside...
By the way, when Children of Bodom get off their promotional tour for the new album or whatever Ozzy should get a hold of Alexi Laiho... I remember Ozzy talking about getting in a new guitarist to write with... And Alexi once said that one of his dreams is to play with Ozzy...Ok, Alexi may not have the best english but he might be able to get Ozzy back doing better songs... Plus he's THE greatest guitarist around... That would be a match made in heaven...

ozzy quit sabbath because never say die sucked so bad. he was embarrassed by all the horns, etc. that were used in the songs. im as sick of the osbournes as much as anyone, but hes still the original sabbath vocalist and i'll love the first 7 albums forever.

Yeah, he's pretty darn messed up but at least he doesn't come across as arrogant like members of a lot of other bands do.

I find it amusing that nearly every loser internet nerd that lives in their mothers basement browses this site. The only reason any of you call Ozzy whatever it is that you choose to call him is because he has a tv show. He "sold out". What the fuck ever, you would do it to. I like the fact that I can read posts from people calling a certain band bad ass and then two months later when that band is popular the same user comes on here to bash them. Bottom line is that Ozzy has more talent in his left nut than any of the nu metal/hardcore/grindcore bands that are out there now. The music today SUCKS!!!! Yes, all of it. I haven't bought a decent album in years. If you are telling me it takes talent to scream incoherently into a microphone, then by god, I am one talented motherfucker....but whatever...just keep on hating whoever it is trendy to hate.

has to be Pantera, Nirvana, Alice In Chains along with GNR. All of those bands were really unique and there will never be another like them. I feel that the rock world really needed these bands and now it feels empty without them. Fuck the naysayers. Thats my goddamned opinion

No disrespect to Oz or Ozzifreak. I Like Ozzy fine. HOWEVER, I lost a little respect when I read Geezer wrote ALL the lyrics for Sabbath and Daisley(?) and co. wrote ALL the lyrics for Blizzard and Diary.Then I lost nearly all I had left when I saw that STOOPID t.v. show. Also, as far as the quote "When Ozzy left Sabbath he went on to bigger things any ways in terms of record sales and popularity-he kicked ass", this could be attributed to the shrewd tactics of Don Arden (sharons dad) and the virtuosity of the great Randy Rhoads. That said, the first 5 Sab albums rank near the top of MY list. (right behind all the Alice Cooper and Thin Lizzy).

Ozzy Osbourne was fired from Black Sabbath because of his drug problems and his inability or as some would say flat out refusal to make any contributions to the band. Ozzy was FIRED by Sabbath, just like he was HIRED to sing in the band that eventually became Sabbath.
