JOE PERRY To Play Single Show In New York City To Launch Solo Album - Apr. 14, 2005
Launch Radio Networks is reporting that AEROSMITH guitarist Joe Perry is getting ready for a special concert in New York City next month. His self-titled solo album comes out two days earlier, on May 3, and he's going to play the Webster Hall club on May 5 to launch it. As of now, it's the only show he's announced. Perry told Launch that he had some ideas about a short tour, but it just didn't work out, so this New York City event is the next best thing. "I'd thought about doing that at first, but I, I think that it's gonna take up too much time, so I'm gonna give this a real good kick-off party, and with the help of the record company, we're gonna have some fun with that in New York, and then it's gonna be off on its own," he said.

AEROSMITH is nearing the end of their year-long break, so Perry will rejoin his mates for a lengthy tour starting in late September or early October. The band will also release a live album at that time.

a slew of live albums and greatest hits collections is a sure sign of a band trying to work it's way out of its record contract so that it can hang it up and retire....

COMMENT | Of course

we all know that Aerosmith's sudio work has steadily seen declining sales in the last few years'. Even though the critcally aclaimed Honkin' on Bobo was a great record, it sold only 500,000 copies.

On the other hand, You Gotta Move went 4x Platinum in a short amount of time.

The greatest hits they did a few years ago didn't catch my interest a few years ago, but the show did.

Hot chicks everywhere.

What I'm gettin at is ppl aren't that interested in their new stuff right now. So,l they are givin the ppl what they want, which is live stuff and a lengthy tour.

Bottom line, a live record is a good excuse for a tour.

I saw them in 2003 with Kiss and I've never seen so many fat girls in one place in my life.

All swooning over every fucking ballad they've ever released... pathetic.

Kiss fans are mostly male while Aerosmith fans are mostly fat girls who can't get laid or divorced saggy soccer moms.

COMMENT | I just picked up the first 2 Joe Perry Project cd's
