My band RIPSNORTER played with Graves back in 2001. I think the drummer of RIPSNORTER does his artwork, 'cause when I was in the band, we had that style or art for flyers and posters.

I love it. And he's 100% RIGHT about punk rock. 90% of punk fans suck, they're either into Good Charlotte and Avril Lavigne, thinking they are "rebels", or they're stuck up underground elitists who proclaim themselves "anarchists" while dictating rules on what "Punk Rock should be" (veeeery coherent eh? No.). I can't stand Good Charlotte and Lavigne and they clearly are not rebels and i can't stand their ignorant fans, but that's just my opinion, they're totally free to be slaves of the system and to call themselves "punk" if that's what they want. To me "punk" means being yourself and doing and playing what you want, with no rules nor restrictions. When it comes to that i APPLAUDE Michael Graves courage: He's right wing and i completely DISAGREE with his political views, but he's got the guts to speak his mind about them and actually act accordingly (he went and fought in Iraq) and that's VERY PUNK in my book. He's being himself 100%, he doesn't give a fuck if the scene will judge him (and believe me, THEY WILL) and will call him "fascist", "poser", or "fake punk". HE IS 100% PUNK ROCK in my book, i love his vocals in the Misfits and I will buy his album. More power to people who have the guts to speak their mind and be themselves, whether they agree or not with you. This is what democracy, anarchy and PUNK should be all about.

Go down to Short Vine in Cincy around Bogart's. You'll find all kinds of punks livin' the life, squattin' 10 or more to an apt. A few of them get jobs to pay the bills and the others bum money on the street for booze and food. They could give a fuck less what a bitch thinks.

To the best of my knowledge, Glenn never wore the 'crimson ghost' on his face; that has always been Michale's thing. Yeah, Glenn probably could kick Michale's ass.
But you know what? Graves-era Misfits are a helluva lot cooler than Danzig-era Misfits. Before you call me some kind of ignoramus, I listen to and love both. I prefer Graves over Danzig.

I'm pretty much in the same boat as you. I don't see how any metalhead couldn't like the Graves era, the were a lot heavier with him, especially on American Psycho. When that came out, I took it to a party and played it, every one thought it was Danzig still on vocals. They are similar in sound.
Lycanthropunk - nice post and good points.
To those putting down the title, maybe he's making a statement with it. Giving the punk scene a wake up call, instead of putting it down. Or he's just keeping with the theme of horror. With the zombies, he could be showing it as a ressurection of punk. Just my thoughts.
grover - from what I understand, he was honorably discharged from the Marines. At least he gave it a shot. They don't take just anybody. I couldn't get in because of something very minor. I also had a friend who was the poster boy for the Marines. It was his only dream. He came from a military family, he worked out everyday, he was gung ho in eveything he did. He went in, came back less than 2 weeks, he had asthma. It has nothing to do with not being able to handle it.
