VINNIE PAUL Jams With BLACK LABEL SOCIETY In Florida

DAMAGEPLAN/PANTERA drummer Vinnie Paul joined BLACK LABEL SOCIETY on stage for the song "Suicide Messiah" during their performance at the House of Blues in Orlando, Florida Sunday night (April 17). Paul had previously jammed with BLACK LABEL SOCIETY at the 2005 WAAF Indoor Beach Party on April 9 at the Tsongas Arena in Lowell, MA.

weren't very good, and I don't think Dimebag would want other people filling in his material and taking it in other directions (he always seemed to take great pride in what he wrote, hence the fact he was the only guitar player for the most part in his projects). It'd be better if Zakk and Vinnie launched a new band with a new frontman (someone up to the job, but not Phil cos it would tarnish the Pantera legacy and look like an attempt to start a new chapter without Dime) and a bassist (maybe Rex, he didn't piss anyone off and he and Vinnie are a tight section).

Vinnie just stood up behind the kit & the place went crazy. They played Suicide Messiah, then Vinnie left. He didn't come out across the stage or anything. They didn't really make a big specticle of it, which I think was probably better. However Zakk alot about Dime & how much he ment to him, but it's all part of the healing process.
BLS is not Pantera or ever will be. It's more like a VERY HEAVY classic hard rock style with some serious guitar shredding. I think BLS has the abilty to last the test of time. There was a W I D E age range at the show, and a LOT of hot chicks (suprisingly).

We were watching Zakk set up, notice Craig getting up, then my girl started freaking out "Oh my God! Oh my god!" I was looking around wondering WTF is going on and the whole House of Blues crowd just screams "VINNNIE!!!!!!" and goes fucking nuts as Vinnie mounts up and cranks into Suicide Messiah. He looked like he was having a blast, got huge pop from the crowd when he left. Then everyone started chanting "Dime!!! Dime!!! Dime!!!".
The show had alot of Dime to it, definatly. Almost felt like he could pop out from the side and Rip it up with Zakk. Definatly a great show, Zakk played close to an hour extra and pissed off the Venue, but i dont think the crowd gave a fuck.

and it was a great moment when vinnie hit the skins. Did a great job on the song and bowed out gracefully. You idiot haters can say what you will but zakk damn near played 3 hrs, and thats more value and jams for the buck than damn near anyone out there. I just realized who you are (i think). I guess I can see why you are loyal to Zakk. Without blurting out another childish post, I'll explain calmly what I'm mad about.
I attended the BLS show in Boston that was billed as a tribute to Dimebag. I knew before going there that I wasn't a fan of BLS but I've always loved Zakk as a player and respected the fact that all profits were being donated the Dimebag Memorial Fund.
During the show, Zakk was obviously very drunk. I guess that is the "Metal" attitude but it's getting old. He was unable to speak coherently and his playing was far from the level that was expected from a man with his talent. Zakk has a serious drinking problem and he needs to get that resolved ASAP.
Following the show, I did some research and found out that none of the money from the Dimebag Memorial Fund is going to the families of Nathan Bray or Erin Halk. That is disgusting. Someone actually managed to leave out certain victims families from the tragedy that occurred on December 8, 2004. What about taking care of your brothers? I guess some people are more important than others?
So, that is why I'm so pissy. I simply can't believe we have put a higher value on some lives and not others.
I didn't know Dimebag personally but I doubt he would think this is cool. No matter how you spin it.

I was there last night...it was incredible when Vinnie came out, the place went fucking nuts. Craig is an awesome drummer too.
I'm sure Zakk did piss off the HOB big wigs last night... every Sunday night is Service Industry night at the HOB and shows are supposed to end by 10PM, it ended at almost 11. Fuck the HOB...those assholes had the upstairs closed last night it should have been open, anyways great show.

....after NAMM and Zakk and the band rocked....but the only really "hot" chick there was singing for the opening band......most of the rest came in somewhere between Rhea Perlman and Ernest Borgnine (I guess that's kinda hot).
Maybe all the "hot" chics were backstage with the band or something.....
BTW - keep Craig on drums for BLS (he's a really good drummer) unless Zakk does the .38 Special of Metal thing and has two drummers.......hhhmmmmmmmm........

Let's not forget that it wasn't that long ago that Vinnie lost his brother. None of us can imagine how hard it must be to have to go behind the kit, when for years, he's always had his brother in front of him, wailing away like a madman.
While it is exciting to see him back behind the skins, Vinnie may need a little more time before he gets back proper, if he ever decides to. I can't imagine what it would be like if I lost my brother, so I can't even speculate, but it's gotta be hell. Let's not go imagining any "Vinnie Paul Joins BLS" news any time soon...

I think Vinnie should join B.L.S.
I think it would provide the "family" type atmosphere that he was used to with Pantera & Damageplan. NO ONE can ever replace Dime, but playin' with Zakk would be about as close as anyone could get.
I was hopin' that Vinnie would be at the Tampa show, I would have loved to see him playin' again, but the show fuckin' kicked anyway.
I'm always happy to see all the B.L.S. supporters postin' on here, I've always loved Zakk's playin' and Pride & Glory was a revelation for me. All the haters can say what they want about the "biker attitude", but it represents somethin' Zakk has always believed in, like loyality, family, & havin' a fuckin' great time.

I always said it would have been sick to have Zakk join Pantera when they were all still together. Dimebag and Zakk; that would have been a guitar duo that is second to none. It is too bad Phil has such issues but maybe one day he can get back into the swing of things and become the front man of metal that he "used" to be. im fairly certain, in fact i know this, that if my son, or brother, or whatever, was killed, i would not be concerned about money, or lack thereof. "my memorial fund is not going to me". and i defenitely would not want any indignant bastards discussing where the money for my family is going. maybe, just maybe, the 2 ladies fighting over the fund could stop being bitches for a second, and truly honor (honour, for my canadian friends) their memories, and their bravery. doing that is best done with the heart than the dollar.
