STATIC-X: New Album Preview Available Online - Apr. 21, 2005
STATIC-X have uploaded three songs from their upcoming fourth full-length CD, "Start a War", at the WarnerReprise.com web site. Check them out:

"I'm The One": Quicktime, Windows (High, Low)
"The Enemy": Quicktime, Windows (High, Low)
"Start A War": Quicktime, Windows (High, Low)

"Start a War" is scheduled for release on June 14 via Warner Bros. Records.

STATIC-X entered the studio in Los Angeles in October with producer Ulrich Wild to begin recording the album, the group's first with new drummer Nick Oshiro. Early STATIC-X guitarist Koichi Fukuda — who recently officially rejoined the band — handled the programming and keyboard duties during the recording process.

"Start a War" track listing:

01. The Enemy
02. I'm The One
03. Start A War
04. Pieces
05. Dirthouse
06. Skinnyman
07. Just In Case
08. Set It Off
09. I Want To Fucking Break It
10. Night Terrors
11. Otsego Amigo
12. My Damnation
13. Brainfog

STATIC-X's last collection of new recordings, "Shadow Zone", was released in October 2003. A remix-and-rarities disc, "Beneath, Between, Beyond", featuring the band's soundtrack releases as well as early demos, exclusive remixes and never-before-heard material, came out last July.

As previously reported, Fukuda rejoined STATIC-X in early March as the replacement for Tripp Eisen, who was dismissed from the group following reports that Eisen was arrested by authorities in two states on charges that include kidnapping, sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child. The charges stem from two separate incidents involving sexual relations with minors.

sounds a bit more in the vein of WDT except for "I'm The One" which sounds left over from Shadow Zone. i'd have to hear the whole thing first before drawing any conclusions.

static-x has gone really downhill. They used to really look like they would take over where Ministry failed to do when they released Filth Pig. Instead, Static-X releases Shadow Zone and Ministry takes over where it left off on Psalm 69 with Houses of the Mole, proving they can do the job the left behind again.

Still this is better than Shadow Zone.

Is it my imagination, or does that sound a little TOO much like something Fred Durst would come up with. These guys just plain suck, period. No ifs, ands or buts.

Still, I guess they won't be playing any "All Ages" gigs for a while.

this is no WDT but this is pretty good. i must say the "singing" is more prominent but it's not overbearing. i can now say i'm looking forward to the new album. koichi being back in the band has certainly made all the difference.

You guys dont even read the fucking news do you? Koichi did the samples and keyboards etc on this album. Tripp and Wayne wrote all the riffs. Koichi was in the studio before Tripp was picked up as a helping hand. Koichi just fucking hates touring. The album was finished before Tripp got picked up.

Re Fred Durst, it's his attitude that is the problem I think.

Also, don't insult Static-x like that. You can Inflamer need to go and make babies between the two of you.

Don't insult Static-X? Why ever not? Is Wayne gonna come around later and steal my bike? By the way, buddy-o, you might want to brush up on your use of the English Language there. Even "Engrish" makes more sense than that.

And yes, Static-X still FUCKING SUCKS!! Always have, always will.

Not too bad.

In my humble opinion, "Machine" was just as heavy, if not heavier, that WDT.

I'm hoping there is a tune on the record that has the same type of vibe as say, "Get to the Gone."
