ZAKK WYLDE Detained By Police Following Fight; Tonight's BLACK LABEL SOCIETY Show Cancelled

Patrick Orr of Boise's The Idaho Statesman has issued the following report: Things got Wylde at The Big Easy this afternoon, and a concert scheduled for tonight got canceled soon after. Boise Police were summoned to the concert club around 3 p.m. after getting a call about a possible fight. When they arrived, they found that considerable damage had been done inside The Big Easy. Witnesses said the damage was done by guitarist Zakk Wylde using a baseball bat, Boise police spokeswoman Lynn Hightower said. Officers detained Wylde and another man, Charles Hurd, for about a half hour. Nobody involved wanted to press charges, so the case was dropped, police said. Wylde, longtime guitarist for metal vocalist OZZY OSBOURNE, was scheduled to play at The Big Easy tonight with his band, BLACK LABEL SOCIETY. The gig was nixed shortly after the afternoon incident. “The show was canceled due to illness,” Big Easy co-owner Paul Thornton said. Thornton would not comment further.

He did the same shit....at a radio station here in St. louis. The DJ asked if Mike Piazza(His kids Godfather) was gay, and he started smashing shit in the studio. .......................
That did happen on his tour bus....the guy come in to do the interview with a complete attitude, so when he asked that about Mike, that give Zakk the green light.
Also in Japan when Tim Bolin bought Zakk a collecter baseball bat (probably the same bat used here) he played the condiment ball a little too aggresive and got into some trouble.
If you don't like Zakk or B.L.S. fine, I'm sure cryin' about it will make it all go away, so cry me a fuckin' river....assholes.

I love his guitar playing, but Zakk can be a total dick at times, and yes I do know from experiance. I brought my guitar (his custom Epiphone Les Paul) to one of his shows to get signed. I waited over 2 hours outside with a handfull of other guys waiting for him. Security said the band left-then why is the bands tour bus and security there? So we said fuck it-wait longer. Then a bouncer comes out and tells us straight up: Zakk is in the club but he doesn't want to meet any fans or sign any autographs. It was fucked up, but the bouncer who told us happened to be the drummer of my friend's band so we got backstage and back into the venue. And it was true, he was in a room with some of the other band members. The only one that was walking around talking to people inside of the venue (after the show was over for over 2 hours) was Craig (the drummer of BLS).
So although yes he fucking rips on guitar, I can honestly say he can be a real dick sometimes.

Here is the official yet garbled story: The Big Easy is having a Dimebag tribute show tomarow put on by the idaho chapter of the Society, after two days of drinking Zakk heard about the show and what can be assumed to be a fit of depression started breaking chairs, the tour manager was woke up and said we will pay for it, then a couple chairs turned into eight chairs, then barstools, then the display cases and guitars, (whick were repairable) then the posters. After the police were involved the owners of the bar sat down with the tour manager and discussed the damages, the tour manager assured the owners that everything would be paid and that Zakk had not done anything like this before. The owners had a meeting and decided not to press charges, most likely to avoid the bad press for locking up Zakk. The police confiscated the bat took some pictures and went on their way. the rest of the evening was spent cleaning up the mess. It should be mentioned that Zakk appeared to be enjoying himself while on his tyrade, as he offered the bat to one of the big easy employees and told him to take a swing, because, "I'm paying for it."

I'd never liked Wylde from what i've seen and heard about him. Never really liked most of what he did with Ozzy. Then I actually listened to BLS Mafia and his 'Book Of Shadows' album and I was really surprised.
I can hear an Alice In Chains and G n R influence in his work with BLS and, yes, I know he doesn't touch those bands but I'm glad I checked him out and was proved wrong.
I think the whole beer monster biker thing is a bit sad though.

anyday over BLS...eventough i like them, but kreator (except endorama) is fucking amazing.
but Grohl just sucks...I bought the Probot album just to be disappointed...it did include people i worship on it like "lemmy" and "king diamond"...and i never thought i'd say they would do anything that sucked...but it did suck, and i bought it and listened to it....i didn't act all "tough guy" and go " i will say it sucks cause Grohl is playing on it"...
"shake your blood" or whatever the hell the name is of that song is pretty catchy...but still...not worthy of money...
and that's MY opinion....don't like it, go fuck yourself.

I really can´t understand why the fact of listening to Black Label Society implies you have to bash bands like Opeth. I absolutely love both bands, and I can´t really think why that is an incompatibility. Of course, I understand it coming from people that seem to have a black hole for brain, like Kull or Molotov, but I really think you´re limiting your possibilities to find great bands if you think that listening to A should keep you away from listening to B. ´Nuff said.
Terrifyer: is that the road you wanted me to take? :D

Great fuckin thread, very entertaining, as far as Zakk Wilde i have no problem with him or his music, not a fan at all but he is an awesome guitar player oh and all you fans of Zakk and BLS just because you own a BLS record or see them in concert does not automatically make you some sort of biker, this chapter and that chapter...very laughable.

and has you all fooled-$100 for a set of patches to be"in the brotherhood" is the biggest scam i've seen in awhile-all his other merch is overpriced too-i have nothing against an artist making a profit but $100 for patches is insane-all his shirts cost next to nothing also -black w/ white print-wow -they are even higher wholesale then any other rock band tshirts-

Get used to it. Zakk is the real deal, not like half of the poser playing music today. Ask any musician in any band, they might not like Zakk cause he's brutally honest. But they respect him for him always being honest and his unmatched work ethic.

Thanks chorz, it's very true that the death of Dime has got to be weighin' on Zakk, and all that greif is gonna bubble over some time, but these rimjobs on here are so "tough" that nothin' like that would bother them.
I know that Dime's murder still leaves me going through all sorts of fucked up emotions...the only thing I know to do is remember all the great music and what a great human being he was.

All these people who come in here and talk shit about BLS have no idea what metal is... I saw this guy live and he knows what the fuck he's doin. The sheer notion that someone would be able to call him a shitty guitarist is funny, because this guy is arguably the greatest of all time. As far as his singing voice goes, its southern rock meets metal, goes perfectly with the music. I think someone in here had the balls to say he butchered randy's solos... He plays randy's solos flawlessly and then some, shit if you think you can point out a mistake when he does a solo I'll buy you an ozzfest ticket and take you there myself. Truth be told people are just pissed cause they'll never amount to half of what Zakk and the BLS have become, you could say shit to his face, he wouldn't bother kicking your ass cause you don't amount to a zit on his fuckin ass... I was talking to one of Zakk's crew at the show in Portland Friday the 29th. He wouldn't go into much detail but he said don't beleive everything you read and ESPECIALLY the names of the people involved . . .
I have known Zakk for 3 years now and the man has great respect for this country and for the people he plays for. He is a MAN and he knows his shit. He has travelled over the word many times and has seen things and been places that squabbling little fans on this board have no comprehension of.
I wont go into specifics on who said what or who's a pussy and that garbage. When you all grow up and realize that musician's are just people with a gift and a drive to do what they feel in their hearts, then maybe you will realize that there is no point to finger pointing and name calling.
