KISS: First Three Albums To Be Released As Three-CD Set
- May 3, 2005
|
|
|
According to a post on KissOnline.com, Universal Music will release the first three KISS albums ("Kiss", "Hotter than Hell" and "Dressed to Kill") as a three-CD set in the U.S. on June 21.
As previously reported, KISS frontman Paul Stanley has collaborated with Boston-based THE CLICK FIVE on the track "Angel to You (Devil to Me)", which is set to appear on THE CLICK FIVE's debut CD, "Greetings From Imrie House", due on August 2 via Lava.
Stanley reportedly co-wrote the track with THE CLICK FIVE keyboardist Ben Romans at Stanley's home studio. The song also features a guest appearance by Elliott Easton of THE CARS.

this years ago. I remember I was working in a record store in the early 90s and we sold four-disc sets. It was just four Kiss Cds in a big hard plastic square.

So these aging drag queens figure out another way to repackage the exact same stuff AGAIN in a new effort to milk clowns like kissrules out of their milk money. Didn't these guys used to be a rock band? Pathetic.

this is the third time the originals has been released.Only kiss could have the balls to put the exact same shit out numerous times.Whats next, best of the originals?Perhaps, greatest hits of the originals? How about, the originals,re,re,re,released?Kiss hasnt been on universal for awhile,so maybe this is a contractual type thing.Really dont matter tho, greed is still spelled the same as it always was.SIMMONS!!And I am sure Ace&Peter will get their monies for whatever songs they wrote.Probably not much more then that.Once again, the fat lady has sung,or was that a fat man with a wig pretending to be a bass player?

Just another way for them to re-package something old and make it seem like it's new. Unbelievable. Do they really need the money that bad?

You are right and what some people are missing is that Universal Music are the ones releasing this and not KISS. I have the Originals record so that is good enough for me.

How considerate of Gene Simmons. He's clamped down on the unofficial, fan based trade in ignored and hard to get parts of Kiss history but has been kind enough to offer an equally desirable piece of new merchandise... God bless you for bestowing this new Kiss cardboard box upon us mere mortals, Mr. Simmons. Even tho you have chosen to fill it with the same albums and songs everyone already owns, the box alone justifies the (likely) extortionate price.
Just imagine how pissed off Kiss fans are gonna be when they discover that not only are the CD's the same as those they already own but the box is made of recycled cardboard too...

of the three album Originals set.
I bought the 3 record set way back in high school and wore it out years ago.
If they stick with the original (no pun intended) format along with the booklet, cards and other goodies it should be pretty decent.
Thanks my opinion, yours may differ

Universal Music is the one you should be pissed at, they own the KISS back catalog. Gene and Paul really don't have a say in what Universal does with it.

You can count the Dressed to Kill, Originals, Box Set, Double Platinum, Alive, all the current live CDs & compilations, Killers, etc. It is pathetic. I am a KISS fan. Please retire now.

Everyone needs to calm down about all the Kiss rehash re-releases. Kiss is no longer signed to Universal and has zero input on what the lable releases. Paul and Gene sold their publishing rights in 1990 to Universal to cover debts of the band. The only money Paul and Gene make from these types of reissues is songwriter royalties...which Ace and Peter will also receive. But Paul and Gene make no decisions on what Universal decides to do with their catalog. This is Universal trying to cash in on the Kiss brand. They have been doing it ever since they released Kiss and Kiss signed with Sanctuary record. I am a record store manager and no one bitches about the THOUSANDS of reissues of every other band in the world that no longer controls their catalog. Every week I get release books from every label with their upcoming releases in them and 90 percent of the releases are some sort of reissue. This is just what happens once you leave the lable and you leave your catalog behind....so just calm down!

Here we go again...is this set of three albums going to have bonus tracks, etc? If not, then (like the 5 CD box set) is a waste of time. Where's all of this unreleased audio/video, etc?
