Another NINE INCH NAILS Album?

Launch Radio Networks reports: According to Trent Reznor, it won't be another six years before another NINE INCH NAILS album surfaces. In a forum on the band's official web site where Reznor and other members answer fan questions, a person named Lindsay asked, "You've talked about another album being released relatively soon. Can you tell us anything about it? Will it be a 'sister' album to 'With Teeth'...? Will it sound similar to 'With Teeth'?" Reznor replied, "I'm working on it right now — I think it's about to shift in direction. We'll see. Stay tuned."
Reznor certainly doesn't seem to have a shortage of songs. He told Launch that when he started working on the just-released "With Teeth" album, he came up with a large amount of material. "I had forty or fifty musical kind of things I thought sounded good, all instrumental," he said. "I'd prepared myself that no matter what I did, it was okay, and I'll just keep writing more. You know, it's not like, 'When I get to ten, I'm done.' I planned on getting to fifty."
"With Teeth", NINE INCH NAILS' first new album since 1999's "The Fragile", arrived in stores last Tuesday. Early reports indicate that the disc could debut at Number One on The Billboard 200 chart, with first-week sales in the range of 260 - 280,000.

hmm... I enjoyed With Teeth, sure it wasnt the best but I still liked it all the same. I hope Trent can get a new album out soon. Plus hopefully NIN will come to Vancouver!!

The new disc is different but good. I think its a little more raw and trent has shown that he is determined not to overproduce himself any more so it COULD be less than 6 years...
Then again, he said it wouldn't be 5 more years till a new album after he released the Fragile and then we waited even longer so who knows.
Also, the Fragile was a good ass album and I think it will go down as one of their great, undiscovered albums. Even Deeper at Coachella was BOMB.

What Trent probably means is "I have a new album's worth of songs ready now, but I'm going to keep it in storage until 2011 when I decide to release it. Why? I don't need a reason, I'm Trent fuckin' Reznor, I can do what I want. GTFO."
That being said, I like his new album and hope he can get some new music out before the end of the decade.

Right after "The Fragile" was released in 1999 Trent said that we wouldn't have to wait another six years to hear new music from him. Well here we are in the year 2005, six years after the release of "The Fragile" with a new album. I honestly don't see how it could take you six years to write and produce a record unless your doing the Def Leppard thing and writing a note every few weeks.

the new Disc is not different, it sounds like the album people who hate NIN expect NIN to make. It is too cliched in its lyrics and subject matter to be taken seriously. Reznor is much
smarter than the guy on this record. I loved The Fragile because it sounded different from what people would expect from NIN. WITH TEETH sounds like the second half of a double album.... it has no weight and lacks the epic quality of the albums that came before it, a C+ album. If this were some other band I would let it slide, but this is fucking Nine Inch Nails and he is better than this. I mean Broken only had 8 songs and two of those were short instrumentals and yet it is an exhausting and brutal album...With Teeth is just an album in between albums to me. But I am glad other people like it and that it is selling, of course I kind of hope it bombs so Reznor can stop being so proud of it while bad mouthing The Fragile because it flopped...I don't care that The Fragile flopped, it didn't suck.

While there are some songs that I still haven't warmed up to.. the album is fantastic.. B+ Fantastic, 8 stars ( outta 10) fantastic.. I really enjoy sunspots, only, all the love in the world, right where it belongs... Those songs stand out in my opinion! And they are fucking great great songs.. The CD has been getting mostly favorable reviews by the way. It's not NINs best but.. how can you repeat TDS.. you can't that was a masterpiece.. It can be compared to PF's The Wall.. And as far as repeating Broken.. come on 26 Compared to 39.. Unfortunatly.. You can do it for every album.. Different time for Reznor then different time for Reznor now!! Record Company probs then.. Post drug addiction probs now.. Still good album.. I like how NIN can be different every album and still be NIN.. it's good that way.. Not many bands can do it.. ie Korn, Metallica.. etc.. The lyrics I will admit are lacking.. they go with the music ok though.. it's a simple raw album.. and I like that Trent went this route!! Good stuff...
haha.. PS THE FRAGILE did kick ass.. it was self edulgent.. but come on.. This is Trent.. he is one of the musical gods.. and I am glad he perfected his extremely great talent.. and excellent art.. And now for some easier listening great music.. With Teeth.. still NIN still great!!
