it was going to be a new studio album. But yeh, I don't think we really need another live dvd. Just remaster Live after Death and Maiden England and the fans will be happy.

Do we need another live version of:

The Trooper?
Number of the Beast?
Hallowed Be They Name?
Two Minutes To Midnight?
Iron Maiden?

No. No live album they've done has matched "Live After Death".

IF YOU DON'T WANT IT, DON'T BUY IT!

Jesus Christ, it's not that hard to NOT buy something. Personally, I collect bootleg recordings of Maiden and other bands, so any live releases by them are welcome, as long as they're good. (Raise Hell does not constitute good.) I spent a lot of money on the box set and was very happy with it. I got The Early Years when it came out and was quite happy with that as well.

It would be nice to get some of the songs that've never been played for more than one tour on a live cd (especially Somewhere in Time). But, I'm betting (as with what the majority of you think) that it'll be yet another rehash of the same ole live songs played ad naseum... Somewhere between 3-6 renditions of "No. of the Beast" " "Hallowed" and "IM" will grace this box set. Oh how I love listening to the same 3 songs over and over and yet over again. The anticipation is killing me.

I'm a proud collector of Maiden material. One of the best bands out there. The Paul Di Anno era is my favourite, but this doesn't mean i don't like Bruce or Blaze. I love both actually. Long Live Iron Maiden. Up The Irons! Go Westham Go!

if u had any clue you would know that maiden are releasing a few volumes of DVDs entailing their entire history. the early years was just that - maiden's biography through piece of mind. instead of releasing these chronologically, they are releasing the last DVD in the series - this one that this post is about. the next volume is gonna be powerslave/live after death.

If you're right and this is merely the next installment of "History" then that's great, but I'm pretty sure Maiden were planning a CD/DVD of the Dance of Death tour, and given the title, I think this is it. There's no excuse for YET ANOTHER live album of the EXACT same setlist of the past 15 years plus a handful of latest-album songs.

The reason Maiden avoids the sell-out status is bacause their music does not comform to whatever is selling at the moment. Instead, they make their mu-lah from merch, more merch, and over-merch. Thus, they are not sell-outs, but merely sellers. And the reason they can pump out a live album for every damn studio effort these days and take off years at a time instead of making new music is because fanboys will buy whatever they put out instead of exploring the only important thing; Maiden's legacy, i.e. all the killer real metal bands that were influenced by them. Kind of hard to buy great new metal CDs if every expendable penny of yours is going to "Live and Live over again yet again one more time until the next time volume 3586" or the latest Eddie bobblehead.

At least its better than giving your money to no talent hacks like Metallica, Kiss, or Schnozzy. Oh wait... Maiden sold their souls to that oaf's family now too. Money kills art.

I'll buy it, since us Aussies didn't get to see the last tour anyway, bastards! It's now 13 years since they've been here. How long do we have to wait for fuck's sakes?

Having said that I'd only buy it if it has some interesting behind the scenes stuff as well as the live show. As much as I love Maiden I have to agree you can only see the same old songs on live concert footage so many times.

Can't wait for the LONG OVERDUE release of Live After Death to DVD.

I picked up a DVDR of Live After Death a few years ago on E-bay. Fairly decent quality. Lost the VHS years ago. I'm hoping that releasing a re-mastered version of that masterpiece is a high priority for the Maiden.....

...combines material from the last TWO tours (Give me 'Ed and Dance Of Death tour) this one should be brilliant. But if there's "only" material of the DoD tour on it, that's still fine with me. the new songs sounded and looked killer, especially Paschendale and Journeyman. I have to agree that Maiden should mix up their setlist though and drop most of the so-called "fan favourites" for more "obscure" songs or songs only played on the respective tours - as often disussed even on Maiden's own message board. I'd especially like to hear more Somewhere In Time and Seventh Son material.
