GUNS N' ROSES: 'Chinese Democracy' Out By Christmas?

Sp1at.com has issued the following report: GUNS N' ROSES' long-awaited comeback album, "Chinese Democracy", will be out by Christmas 2005, according to one employee at Universal Music Group. Sp1at.com recently spoke to the UMG worker, who said "The release of 'Chinese Democracy' is being organised now but it is being dealt with by the top people," although he did admit that due to this he "will not be able to get specific information on anything in the coming months." When asked whether the album would see the light of day in 2005, he replied " 'Chinese Democracy' will be out by Christmas. I am quite certain of that." Whether or not this means that Axl Rose has handed over a completed copy of the album to the record company is currently unknown. However, going on Axl's previous record, it would be very foolish on Interscope and Sanctuary's behalf to be discussing the release process without having actually received a finished product. In response to the latest rumors that an Interscope employee suggested the album would be out by Christmas, the UMG worker said, "It is unlikely that representatives of Interscope are likely to know anything about CD [at this stage]."

To be honest I'm really looking forward to this. I've heard a couple of the tracks and they sound pretty damn good. Damn shame its taken this long, but I think when it's said and done, they'll teach many of these new shitty bands how it's done.

Axl has been working on this CD for 11 years, Now.
At this point, He probably has so much recorded material they could release "Chinese Democracy" as a series of box sets.
I can't believe the record companies that have been crying poverty for the past couple of years have continued to give Axl money towards this project and have continued to pay Producers and the band members nice salaries to prevent them from jumping ship.
They should've cutoff Axl's money and confiscated the master tapes and put a few Axl Rose solo CD's together with those recordings and released this stuff years ago.

Damn right Interscope are gonna be the last people to know when Chi Dem is released!! If I wanted accurate information, I'd go to Sanctuary records...they seem to be Axl's friends at the moment. I also think that there are a couple of follow up albums ready for after Chi Dem as well. This album is gonna slay all before it!!
Also, as far as New G'n'R vs. VR goes, it's New G'n'R for me every time!! Axl is so much more of a legend and frontman then Scott Weiland could ever dream of being, the lineup are more cometent as musicians (especially the guitarists...Robin Fink in particular is amazing both technically and creatively) and besides which New G'n'R have the original Gunners back catalogue behind them...VR have Contraband and a couple of live covers from Appetite. No contest.

It's taken Axl 8 years since Use Your Illusion I to record and release one new song on the End Of Days soundtrack. So we're talkin 8 years per song. He needs a minimum of 10 songs for a new album right ? So 8 times 10 equals 80. Subtract the 14 years we've waited so far and we've only got 66 more years to wait! Some people on here are so impatient and immature. We've only got 66 more years, we're so close! Surely that's something to rejoice for, not get aggitated about? Think how old God is. He's been waiting since before the 60's for this album. I don't think any of us has the right to complain.

No fucking way!! Slash WAS a great guitarist, no doubt. That was nearly 20 years ago. Now, he's not really up to much and past his best. Robin Finck wouldn't even make #150 because barely anyone knows him, which is incredibly unfair. He's an amazingly gifted guitarist, which Chi-Dem will prove when it arrives. In the mean time, just look at the stuff he did with NIN. As far as the modern school of musicians go he is untouchable. Plus, he plays Slash's parts tighter live than Slash ever did. Richard Fortus is also a strong replacement for Izzy, although Izzy is still better. And Matt Sorum isn't an original member, so he's irrelevant. To be honest, only Duff would stand proud in the New G'n'R lineup, so he is a loss (although Tommy Stinson is a capable musician).
To conclude, Robin Finck is up there with John 5 as an underrated guiter great. And the Scott Weiland/Robin Finck comparison is beyond obscene.

The reason Fink is underated is cause he can't write shit (acctually, everything he writes is shit)
Slash is amazing in VR which is why he still remains as the top 5 guitarists of this generation
Big deal, that Fink can play awsome what slash, there are hundreds of teenagers in GNR tribute bands that do the same thing maybe some even better than Fink. I guess all of them are underated also.
Any NIN fan doesn't even know how "amazing" Fink is but,
Scott is an amazing fontman, singer, and song writer
STP had so many more hits than NIN

One of the most overrated and weakest hard rock bands ever. I cannot and never will be able to tolerate Axl Rose. Slash is a phenomenal guitarist but that is it. I cannot stand GNR. They are up there with the Grateful Dead on the list of garbage, along with Green Day, Blink 182, Michael Jackson, and so on.

Why do you keep asking people to vote when you then bash them and praise Velvet Revolver?
Robin (not robert) Finck IS an amzingly talented guitarist. Slash can solo and that's about it. Robin can play lead very well and rythm, and as I have already said is a creative genius. The simple fact of the matter is that Axl, like him or not, would not accept anything less than the best for the new incarnation of G'n'R. The new band are musicians, the old one were entertainers who could do amzing things in the studio but lost it live. Everyone posting here who has actually seen them has said that the new lineup are incredible, the same goes for the leaked Chi-Dem material. As for Velvet Revolver, most people I know listened to Contraband then gave it away in disgust, while the hard core Slash and Duff fans turn up to the live shows to watch them play G'n'R covers and Slither.
Oh, and by the way, in no way can STP be compared to NIN. NIN is an amazing band who have at least one of the recognised greatest albums ever to their name. STP have...well, heroin addiction and not much else.

VR: Vastly overrated, put out an average product. Sorry to inform you people, but the songs are NOT that good. The new Priest and Scorpions album blows it away, and those albums in itself have filler. Only sold well and they do well because of certain individuals in the band past glories. L.A. Guns could have put out the same identical cd, and trust me it would not have sold 2-3 million.
New GNR cd: If it ever comes out, this will sell well. See above. The songs will probably be industrial rock type garbabe, but because of the hype over the years, and the band name (similar to Metallica), it will push records. If a tour ensues, it will either be cancelled early or will flop. Axl has no real solid band to tour, either.
