CHILDREN OF BODOM: New Album To Contain 'Industrial Elements'
- June 2, 2005
|
|
According to a post at Scythes-Of-Bodom.com, CHILDREN OF BODOM mainman Alexi Laiho recently told Finland's Soundi magazine that the group's forthcoming album, "Are You Dead Yet?", will feature some completely new influences. The follow-up to 2003's "Hate Crew Deathroll" will be even more straight-forward than its predecessor and will contain some industrial elements while retaining COB's trademark sound, including the super-fast guitar and keyboard solos. CHILDREN OF BODOM are currently recording "Are You Dead Yet?" at a studio in Helsinki, Finland with producer Mikko Karmila. Nine songs are expected to appear on the new album, including "Are You Dead Yet?", "In Your Face", "Punch Me I Bleed" and partial re-recording of "Trashed, Lost & Strungout" (featuring new vocals and guitar leads). "Are You Dead Yet?" is scheduled for release in September via Spinefarm Records.

Is the name of a finnish lake. Some very young campers (hence the "children") were brutally slayed while they were spending the night there. The killer was never caught. Hope this clears it up for you Allyssia!

Let's hope the trend continues, I'm always wary when bands say things like "even more straight forward..." in reality I don't think this means much, lets just hope they write some cool tunes.
Allyssia - a 'Bodom' is the name for an ancient type of wooden structure that used to be used in ritual sacrifices by the Aztecs. It was powered by the sun and the victim would be slowly crushed from differnt angles so their body was split in to 5 pieces. There are 5 members of the band hence 'children of 'bodom'.

"COB are THE premier Finnish metal band."
I take it you haven't heard of Stratovarius. COB are good but Tolkki et al blow them out of the water.
Slightly nervous about this industrial talk.

actually, it's been downhill from Follow the Reaper. HCD was okay, but too repetetive. I'm not worried about these guys yet. They have a lot of talent. The only thing that I was worried about is that they become another Soilwork and just repeat themselves. But from the looks of it, they realized they need a change and added "Industrial Elements". I'm looking forward to this one.

IMO, this band sucks and there is nothing they are doing that is new or inventive in any way. Now industrial elements? Fuck off. I don't understand why they have any fans since they have ripped off every other band in that genre that came before them.
Marginal music, average overall sound, terrible lyrics.
ALL HAIL CHILDREN OF BUMHOLE!! HOT-TOPIC "METAL" TO THE EXTREME!!!!!!!

if they will sound better than on their first Cd... That really marked something... the followers were trully monotonous...
Brain Dead - I guess you know nothing about the band's history for their name has the origin Lycanthropunk stated as you can see in http://www.scythes-of-bodom.com/site.php?lang=en&go=lakebodom&PHPSESSID=22b79cecd13250bd5887deb8d0559acf Come on!!! They're finnish and they took their name from the brutal act that happened in Lake Bodom!!! Yes, the killer was recently found... So, Alyssa, go there and find out a bit more about the band...
Don't know if what you said has some historical truth but it made me laugh hehe
