PARADISE LOST Sign With CENTURY MEDIA - June 2, 2005
PARADISE LOST have signed a licensing deal with Century Media Records to release the group's new self-titled album in all territories except for continental Europe and Japan, where the CD is still licensed to G.U.N./Sony BMG.

The tentative U.K. release date is still set to be August. More information will be made available soon.

PARADISE LOST's new self-titled album — named in celebration of the group's 10th studio album since their full-length debut, "Lost Paradise", was released in 1990 — was recorded primarily at Chapel Studios in Lincolnshire, England under the guidance of producer Rhys Fulber (FEAR FACTORY, FRONT LINE ASSEMBLY). The follow-up to 2002's "Symbol of Life" is the group's first CD to feature drummer Jeff Singer (ex-BLAZE).

I saw these guys for the first time when they toured with Opeth and it was great. They did alot of stuff from Draconian times and on, plus symbol of life material. I am interested hearing what kind of sound they have with Rhys Fulber as producer.

Wise choice because the distribution for their album wasn't going places like it should! They are not a million dollar artist anymore and Sony/BGM doesn't care about true music.

It's frustrating they don't play anything from GOTHIC, SHADES OF GOD or ICON live though!!!

Saw them two weeks ago.

I like the music but honestly they're quite boring on stage.

Better listen to their music at home...

are not that great live. Of course I didn't know any of their songs and I was at the show to see Opeth, not them, but they did nothing whatsoever that would make me think they are a great band.

They are one of my favourite bands of all time. Greg Mackintosh is the man. I'm not surprised Nick Holmes uses an auto tuner live, he needs it. Check out the live footage from the Evolve DVD and you will hear him hitting a lot of bum notes, he's not a great live singer. I still love the band though.

I'm listening to the new album now and it sounds great played really loud heheh. The Forever After limited edition single has some cool bonus tracks on it too, it's well worth finding. I picked up both the album and single CDs from an online store for $40.00 Australian, great deal!

COMMENT | I wonder if the change in record label will really matter at this point.

They've never been promoted particularly well, even when they were considered to be the one of the 'up and coming' metal bands, and even when they were distributed well, they never seemed to do as well as they could or should have. Probably didn't help that their touring history is rather spotty at times.

I really don't care much for the new album. I like everything they've done, I'm not one of the 'Draconian Times Goons', that believe everything the band releases should sound exactly like that, but this one just doesn't do it for me. Oh well.

caveincollapse- If you've heard SOL, you've heard Fulber's work w/ PL. He produced that album, as well.

That would be good for the band as well as it would be for Ozzfest.
