HIMSA Finish Recording New Album - June 7, 2005
Seatle's HIMSA have returned home from a month in Denmark at Antfarm Studios, where the band recorded their new album, "Hail Horror", with producer Tue Madsen (THE HAUNTED, HEAVEN SHALL BURN). Artwork is being done by Stephen Kasner (INTEGRITY, TREPHINE) and is expected to be finalized this week. Songtitles include include "I, Possession", "They Speak In Swarms", "Wolf Child", "Seminal", "Calling In Silent", "Sleaze Evil" and "The Destroyer", which has recently been a mainstay at the band's live shows. The album is slated for release in late September/early October through Prosthetic Records.

In other news, several more shows have been added to the Dirty Black Summer Tour featuring HIMSA, SCARS OF TOMORROW (first half of the tour), THE AGONY SCENE, FULL BLOWN CHAOS (second half of the tour), and THE ESOTERIC. Here's the most complete and up-to-date itinerary:

Only good band on this tour...Agony Scene suck live (they completely ripped off the Necrophagia song Blood freak (who probably ripped off someone else) Full blown Chaos are basically Hatebreed v.2 from what i have heard..and Esoteric Blow

Himsa will kill everyone on this tour

I like Full Blown Chaos' music but the vocalist sucks bad. My friends band from school is opening for this tour at the Whiskey show on the 16th.

i am from seattle and remember seeing these guys before they become what they are.. there old stuff didnt do it for me at all. but courting tragedy and disaster is pretty fucking incredible, cant wait for this to come out

Botch was great. Himsa's first ep tried to sound like them (and kiss it goodbye, who just reformed), and they failed to pull it off. Then they tried to sound like At the gates, and they were a little better at that. Good band musically but I wish they'd be a little more original. Better than most at this style I guess.
