MACHINE HEAD: 'Elegies' DVD New Release Date Announced, Track Listing Revealed - June 9, 2005
Roadrunner Records has set an August 16 release date (one day earlier internationally) for the new MACHINE HEAD DVD, entitled "Elegies".

The disc will consist of a concert recorded at Brixton Academy in December of 2004. The live footage will be broken up every two or three songs with interstitial segments featuring the following themes:

1. The making of the "Through the Ashes of Empires" album
2. The making of both videos shot during the "Through the Ashes..." album cycle ("Imperium" and "Days Turn Blue to Gray")
3. Behind-the-scenes tour footage.

The DVD will also include the promo videos for "Imperium" and "Days Turn Blue to Gray".

"Elegies" DVD (view cover here) track listing:

01. Intro
02. Imperium
03. Seasons Wither
04. Bulldozer
05. Old
06. Days Turn Blue to Gray
07. The Blood, The Sweat, The Tears
08. Ten Ton Hammer
09. The Burning Red
10. In the Presence of My Enemies
11. Take My Scars
12. Descend the Shades of Night
13. Davidian
14. Covers Medley
15. Block

In a recent interview with The Flint Journal, MACHINE HEAD frontman Robert Flynn had the following to say about the upcoming DVD: "Rather than capture one night, we wanted to capture a vibe of the tour. It's kind of like a tour documentary and it's just two weeks of the tour. It's got stuff from the different shows, the main Brixton (Academy) show where we had the sound and lights and a lot of cameras.

"Every three or four songs, there's going to be a 5- to 10-minute mini movie. The first one is the making of the record, the second one is life on the road — from super fun (stuff) to incredibly boring to super fun — and a thing on the fans. It's all going to be spliced in like a movie."

I got a DVD with some of the 'making of' movies with the import copy of the album. It's pretty informative and cool.

What isn't cool, however, is paying to import this album....only to find out 2 weeks later that they had resigned with Roadrunner US and were going to release domestically.

Bastards!!!

I've been wanting the Illdisposed album...

I loved TTAOE... about the supercharger period of MH, well it is definitely their weakest album musically and when I saw them live in Melbourne, I was actually VERY glad they didnt play more than 1 supercharger song. It was mainly sutff off Burn my Eyes and TTAOE which was awesome. Will be picking this one up for sure.

go to amazon UK. then go to used or new for 1-800 Vindication. You can get the damn thing brand new for less than three pounds (about 6 dollars), and get it shipped to the US 3 or 4 dollars cheaper than you could ever get it here. that cd is AMAZING. everyone get it if at all possible.

that being said, MACHINE FUCKING HEAD RULE! can't wait for this one! august is gonna be expensive. opeth's new one, chimaira's new one, this, and fear factory's new one. i'm gonna be in heaven.

Have they gotten any better????someone fill me in.

Been waiting for a Machine Head DVD for a long time, saw them twice before and they were awesome live.

I wouldn't say TTAOE was a returning to the first album really, i think every album is individual, I'd say it was more a breaking away from The Burning Red/Supercharger if anything. The two times i've been to see MH they've performed Supercharger songs and live they seem to fit in really well with the rest of thier stuff..... But if you haven't already you need to pick up all thier albums, but if you had to get one it would have to be Burn My Eyes or TTAOE.

Fuck the detractors (uh - I guess that includes me 'cause I thought Supercharger sucked - whatever) - Machine Head is an amazing band - especially live. THis goes on the Must Purchase list.

hippiehateslayer- Through The Ashes Of Empires, my friend. Nothing else needs to be said.
