Drummer, Guitarist's Departure Leads To TWISTED METHOD Breakup - June 9, 2005
Mark S. Krzos of News-Press.com has issued the following report:

After just one CD, "Escape from Cape Coma", metal band TWISTED METHOD is no more.

Last week, Derrick "Tripp" Tribbett, the lead vocalist for the Cape Coral-based band that formed after members met at Mariner High School, announced on the group's Web site that two members were leaving for other pursuits.

On Thursday (June 9), the band's manager Charlie Pennachio, confirmed that drummer Ben Goins and guitarist Andy Howard left the band.

"I'm floored," said Pennachio, adding that the split was not about creative differences. "They were building on something. They were ready to start work on a new record and they have a DVD with two new songs coming out later this summer." The DVD will be available through twistedmethod.com.

About a month ago, Howard (not to be confused with THE UNKNOWN's Andy Howard, the only other Lee band to be signed by a major label) announced that he couldn't be involved in the recording sessions in Chicago.

"He has twins and he needed to be with his family," Pennachio said.

Tribbett said being on the road and playing in sweaty nightclubs is not the way to raise children.

"The road beats you up, man," he said.

Shortly after the Chicago sessions, Goins met with Pennachio and announced that he too was leaving.

"He left the band for God," said an incredulous Pennachio. "I thought he was joking at first. I mean, I know he always had a Christian faith, but I guess now he's taking it to a more serious level."

Tribbett said TWISTED METHOD's in-your-face attitude and apparent hostility was mostly an act.

"We weren't the most polite band ... and I think he realized he just didn't want to deal with the road’s temptations anymore," Tribbett said.

Just looking at their photo I could tell that this band sucked and would be missed by no one if they were to fall off the face of the Earth. Didn't they used to exchange eyeliner and makeup tips with the members of Crazy Town?

never heard of them but only have to look at thier name to know they have no talent. if you can't even think of an orignal name how talented can you be? twisted sister may not have been that great but it least they thought of the name first and earned thier sucsces not by adding a word to some else's name.

All these shitty generic nu-metal bands who thought they were so badass playing the Ozzfest can all go to hell. If the highlight of their career was paying money to play for 20-30 minutes a day on some nu-metal tour one year, then that's pretty pathetic.

I never bought their CD or anything, but I saw them on Ozzfest, with Static X and with Dope. They had a lot of energy but I was never really sure how they would follow up an angsty 'fuck you ex girlfriend' kind of record. They were better than several other similar artists on Ozzfest that year.

You fucking ignorant morons. Why bash a band, just because of how they fucking look or what their name is. 90% of bands out there have a dumb-ass name, that doesn't make any sense, but you still fucking like 'em. Get a life, Jesus. They were bad ass. One of the best shows to see. Not anymore, anyways...
