According to a posting at
ResidentAdvisor.net,
MÖTLEY CRÜE drummer
Tommy Lee was threatened by armed guards in Croatia last week after the owner of a local club determined that
Tommy's DJing/percussion performance at the club fell short of expectations.
Launching a new tennis centre in Croatia last week,
Subliminal Records head honcho
Erick Morillo was DJing with
Lee on percussion at a party attended by tennis great
John McEnroe and the rich and famous locals. According to a local spokesman, the owner of the club didn't appreciate
Tommy's performance: "The owner didn't think
Tommy played long enough, and just wasn't into it," the spokesman said. "Suddenly, on their way to the after-party,
Tommy was surrounded by Croatian armed heavies, and
Erick, sizing up the situation, urged pal
Tommy to leave with him immediately on his private chartered plane."
With armed heavies demanding a return fee from the eccentric drummer, the duo promised a check in the mail and fled the scene. The plane returned to Ibiza where
Tommy Lee and guests apparently enjoyed extensive after-party celebrations.
