Former DAMAGEPLAN Frontman To Launch 'Heavy' And' Very Melodic' New Project - July 13, 2005
Former DAMAGEPLAN vocalist Patrick Lachman (ex-HALFORD, DIESEL MACHINE) is preparing to launch a new project in the coming weeks, BLABBERMOUTH.NET can exclusively reveal. The as-yet-unnamed band is rumored to involve notable San Francisco Bay Area and Los Angeles musicians. Lachman describes the material as, "heavy but also very melodic, with the focus being on good songwriting. It's a definite left turn and I think it's going to surprise a lot of people." The group have reportedly written and recorded nearly 20 songs and are preparing to shop for a major label record deal. Plans to launch an official web site are underway as well. More information will be made available soon.

He's a pretty versitile singer & a hell of a guitarist. A "good song" is a "good song" regardless of how heavy, fast, slow, or light it may be. I'm sure this will be played on KNAC.com a lot & if I like it, I will definitely buy it.

Too Bad nothing ever happened with Alice In Chains, Besides the one benefit show.
I thought Pat with Jerry, Sean and Mike might be pretty good fit and could've produced some cool music.

I agree, but ith the Velvet Revolvers and Audiosalves, I would think AIC would have followed suit and gotten a more high-profile singer instead of Pat...thats my guess as to why nothing really happened.

Was suppose to see them on November 22 but that show got cancelled at Clutch Cargos. Immediately bought tickets for the Machine Shop show in Flint for December 9 but that sadly didnt happen as well. What a shame. Would have liked to have seen Pat. Missed my chance seeing him with HALFORD too. It would be awesome seeing him join Rob for the next upcoming Halford album. But its nice to see Pat is moving on and continuing his awesome music.

Nobody really liked Damageplan anyways. When the band broke up(they ARE finished right?) people were still screaming dimebags name. If it was anybody but vinnie or dimebag killed, everyone would have said "oh so sad" and moved on. I think "melodic" & "heavy" have been pieced together before. Does he really think thats original? I see him selling a decent amount his first album, just because fans of nu metal are curious, and then him totally bombing out and if he makes it as far as a second album, it'll tank big time. What a loser. Some people see the dollar signs and don't realize that they are finish, and he should just admit he has been riding on the coat tails of former kings.

"...that you know absolutely dick about muisc:" I'd call that pretty bold talk for a one-eyed fatman. Fact: We know nothing about this "project," we haven't heard note 1, so are you Blabbermouth's Own Nostradumbass[tm]?
So, can you tell me what album I should buy next? I mean, of the ones that aren't released yet, or recorded yet, by the next wave of as-yet-unborn-ground-breaking-musical-genii?

As a matter fact, I *don't* know anything "muisc." Perhaps you can share with the group.

Damageplan wasn't as good as Pantera, but I DID like them and still listen to their stuff.
Dimebag was an amazing musician and I was very excited to see him in any incarnation of music.
I'm glad that Pat is doin' music again, and I wish him the best of luck...I'm very eager to hear his new stuff.

Regardless of "the degrees on your wall says different" (Are they from a correspondence course in Ebonics?) if you hold such contempt for the music here, why *are* you here? Blabbermouth *is* the box in this instance. It's not as if we can post comments on Interstellar Space by Coltrane, that is not what this site is for. Blabbermouth's focus is Metal. Got it? Now blow into the tube so you can back the wheelchair away from the keyboard, and go play on the freeway.

In any event, Lachman's project certainly deserves a listen. The vast majority of the reports I've heard about the Tsunami Relief show, and the clips that I've heard from that show, suggest that he has quite a bit more range than Damageplan allowed him to demonstrate. I'll certainly give it a listen. I make my decisions *after* I've heard something.

Cheers to you H3LL5P4WN, I think I'll follow your lead...

Thats what he does, it's certainly not disrepectful to DimeBag, in fact , Thats just what Dime would'a wanted. The only exception being Vinnie for the the immediate future. Besides Vinnie has his hands full engineering all the yet to be released Pantera, Damageplan, and DAC material!

To the clown that earlier stated that Pat's back for the money, the new DamagePlan will definetely line his pockets, and he's got cash already,... nah, it's his job and he loves what he's doing. You must feed the animal otherwise it will athropy and die.

Lachman should've stuck to playing the guitar. His voice is alright, but about anybody else could the same thing (Phil Anselmo impressions). I was dissapointed with DP, but at least it better than all the numetal shit. I doubt I'll be checking out this project, unless it involves Jerry Cantrell.
