ROBERT PLANT To Perform On 'The Tonight Show With Jay Leno'

Legendary LED ZEPPELIN frontman Robert Plant will be the featured musical guest on NBC-TV's "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno" this Friday, July 22. Plant is continuing to tour in support of his newly released album with the band STRANGE SENSATION, "Mighty Rearranger", available now on Sanctuary Records. "Mighty Rearranger" is Plant's first studio work since 2002's "Dreamland". Check out a list of upcoming Robert Plant tour dates at this location.

Thought he was well past it last time I saw him on the Priory of Brian. But the new album is nothing short of astonishing. And the peformance on Joules Holland was mind blowing. That guy really does get dynamics in rock music as good as (if not better than)anybody!

Robert plant is lyrically very clearver, brings in amazing melodic lines and has a good grasp of world music, so for example can. as he did on the last album can use melodic ideas from morocan music to add a new dinamic and interest. Most of the Led Zep stuff was written as Page - Plant. In fact I think the wole Led Zep 3 was just those two in a deserted place in Wales writting gems like Bron Yor Stomp!
I really like Ozzy music, paticualarly his solo stuff. But he's got a unique voice, not much technically good about it. He had little imput on a lot of the stuff, he just surrounds himself with great musicians. The tunes Iommi came up with without Ozzy are as good as, if not better (Heaven and Hell, the entire Eternal Idol album). The songwritters in his own bands have been brilliant e.g. Randy Rodes. Bob Daisley (co wrote a lot of the first album) said he was responsible for the lyrics because 'ozzy can't write lyrics'. I think the guys great, but I think he's a great frontman, but not much of a musician. Whereas Robert Plant knows exactly what he's talking about. Start a conversation with him about 20's American Jazz, or Blues, and he could go on for hours, I don't think Ozzy has the same passion and knowledge of music.

I don't like some of the Plant albums, but this one genuenly does have the spirit of Zep. Reminds me a lot of the Physical Graffiti album. Paticularly the track 'the train vally'. Guitarist in the band has the right sort of feel, i.e similar feel to page. Plus the rythem section is amazing, not as much raw power as Bonzo Jones, but still interesting and exceptionally good.
I personally think this way is better, exciting new songs, so good they could have sat comfortably on a Zep album. It's not about nostalgia with this band, and so when they do play the odd zep tune (judging from When the Levy Breaks) it can have a new twist and so is not just plowing through the back catalogue.
Similarly this is the reason I probably wouldn't pay to see Black Sabbath, yet would go miles out of my way to see Iommi Hughes.

Anyone who thinks this "New" Bob Plant album is good either is in complete denial or has really shitty taste in music. Though Zep was great, Plant lost his voice after III and has sucked for decades!! To all you living in the Zep dream....BLACK SABBATH was and is better than Zep ever was!!

Led Zep's 1st record is a complete ripoff. Old blues greats are rolling in their graves as Plant n'Co. took credit for their work!! At least SABBATH is Original!!! If you dont believe it then check it out for yourself.Almost every song on that damm album is stolen!!

I saw Plant on June 29 at The Ryman Auditorium. I'm not big on some of his solo stuff, but he was damn good. His band kicked ass. The arrangments on the Zep material was awesome. Different yet, somehow still Zeppelin. And the acoustic blues version of When The Levee Breaks was kick ass. Go see him. You won't be sorry.

Zep owned and still does, even though Plant looks like Mamma Fratelli from the Goonies. FutileLard, I believe he's admitted to taking their first album from the American blues. Zep just perfected it.
