CKY: Former ALL THAT REMAINS Bassist Joins The Fold

Former ALL THAT REMAINS basist Matt Deis has been named the official touring bassist for CKY. Deis made his live debut with the group on Monday, July 18 at the Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood, California. CKY reportedly performed a surprise/rehearsal show at the venue under the band name HAPPY BIRTHDAY PHIL (drummer Jess Margera's father Phil Margera's birthday was on July 13).
CKY's first major North American tour in two years will kick off August 8 at Soma in San Diego. The Adio Footwear-sponsored Rock Adio Tour will also feature FIREBALL MINISTRY and THE KNIVES. In addition, CKY will headline the 8th annual Skate Fest, which takes place September 9 in Worcester, MA.
CKY are touring in support of their fourth album, "An Answer Can Be Found", which sold 41,000 copies in the United States in its first two weeks of release, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Well I have heard a little bit of CKY and dont' really see why the obsession with them. I am really not sure why this kid would leave All That Remains for CKY. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Is it because Phil Labonte refuses to leave his shirt on at any show?
Either way I think that A.T.R. will benefit from having the Blood Has Been Shed guy playing bass for them. I wish them all good luck. Good to see so many locals doing well.

I think CKY and Matt Deis both made the right decision. Apparently Matt had a falling out with his band mates in ATR and left the band. Matt has been a fan of CKY for a while and already knew how to play most of their songs, so it was only fitting that he be brought on board. On behalf of the Alliance I welcome Matt and look forward to seeing him out on the road.

Great to have you onboard. Both bands are up there in my favorites, but CKY is the better band for him.
Phil is an ass. Everytime i've talked to him, he always seemed like he had somewhere more important to be.

I posted this earlier on a diff. thread.
I myself am a big fan of CKY. I think that their music is some of the best that I have ever heard. tonydub made an excellent and educated point. I find it funny that people come to sites like these to bash bands they don't like. If you don't like them, why are you listening to their music. "cky sucks, cky is gay...". Why come come to a site and post something about a band you don't care about. I would never waste my time doing something like that.
There are bands out there that I absolutley hate. But you don't see me posting that I hate them cause it is a waste of time. I came to this site to defend bands that I like.
An earlier news story had Deron Miller criticizing people for making lame, immature comments like the aforementioned ones. He doesn't care about lame comments. He comes to sites like these and finds the comments praising his band because he cares about his fans and their opinions. He doesn't care about naysayers.
CKY's website has this amazing thing called "Ask CKY". Fans can come and ask questions about the band or praise them. Some even waste their time by trying to post negative comments about CKY. I have never seen a band have anything like that on their official website. CKY cares about their fans. Hell, I'm stationed in Iraq right now, fighting in OIF. Jess Margera has taken his time to send me emails asking how I am doing. You don't see that in any other band.
People come on here saying that they sold out and that Bam sucks and they suck for letting him play their music in his show and whatnot. Bam is Jess's younger brother. He supports his brother's band because he likes CKY's music and he loves his brother. Jess supports Bam because Bam is a talented cinematographer, director and skater and he loves his brother. Bam has directed almost all of CKY's music videos.
I pick the music I listen to by going off the advice of members of bands that I like. I listen to the music and I form my opinion of it. If I don't like it, I don't listen to it and I move on. If I do, then I support the band by buying their records and giving them the means to keep recording good music. I don't go off of what MTV or radios play because they all get their funding by big corporations who decide what is trendy and what will sell best.
Basically, if you want to come to a site like this, that is dedicated to letting people post their opinions, do some research before posting. If you don't like a band, give legitimate reasons why you don't like them.

IDR in my opinion is one of the best records ever. I judge "Good Records" Usually on wether or not I can listen to it all the way through without changing, and IDR(the video album too...) is an album I can happily listen to all the way through.

People are very ignorant on this website, not that there aren't any other ignorant people in the world, but this is more so than in other places. If you don't like a band, then DON'T POST ABOUT THEM! It's is that easy. I for one love CKY, there music is a lot better than many bands around right now. Those of you who Hate CKY because of Bam Margera need to open your eyes and do a little research. Bam Margera has very little to do with the band, other than the fact that he's Jess' Brother. No Kids, Brandon Dicamillo isn't in the band, sorry girls, Bam Dosen't sing in the band he's not even in the band! CKY is based on 3 very talented and very intellegent people. Deron Miller, Chad I. Like I said before, CKY is alright musically. And yes, I do like some of their music. But what's so great about them to where they have to have an alliance, or for fans to form an alliance? That's just plain childish in itself! Reminds me of Sakk Wylde and all their retard fans believing that their all in a motorcycle club when 75% of them don't own motorcycles. See what I mean?

I quite like CKY. Not the biggest fan but they're decent.
I'm not feeling this new album yet though. A lot of people are raving about it yet I only find it ok. I'll give it some more listens but right now I prefer IDR.

I just saw the new CKY line up in action in Ft. Lauderdale last Monday, and it was totally fucking raw... matt deis totally upped the ante for the band. total asset.
