SYMPHONY X: No GIGANTOUR Second Stage In San Antonio And Cincinnati

Progressive metallers SYMPHONY X have issued the following Gigantour update via their official web site:
"We apologize deeply for any inconvenience this may cause, but we were just informed today by MEGADETH's agency of these changes. There will be no second stage at either the San Antonio show, or the newly announced Cincinnati show. So that makes four venues — San Diego, San Antonio, Cincinnati, and Boston — where there will be no second stage, and as such, SYMPHONY X won't be appearing at those shows."
Gigantour is a six-week festival trek co-headlined by MEGADETH and DREAM THEATER. Other main-stage acts include FEAR FACTORY, THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN and NEVERMORE. Also scheduled to appear on the second stage are DRY KILL LOGIC, BOBAFLEX and LIFE OF AGONY.

You'd think they would've used there fucking heads when Dave and his mangement were booking venues for the Gigantour. I don't see Ozzfest, Vans Warped, or any other tour with these simple problems. Damn how fucking hard would it be to find another venue in those big cities. I doubt it would take much.

Ozzfest didn't even start with a second stage, it gradually happened. I don't know why any one would want to slam the guy for bringing a metal show for an extremely low price. If this happens for a few years they will be up to speed, hopefully they wont jack up the prices then.

that tickets aren't going to cost the same then considering there's only about half as many bands. And for people who already bought tixs for these shows without the 2nd stage they should get something extra like meeting the bands, a special cd or something. Looks like I'll be going to the Cleveland show then instead of Cincy for sure now.

here is how to solve this problem for the non thinking morons handling this tour, EVERYONE PLAYS ON THE SAME FUCKING STAGE now that seems to work on everyones tour if you cant have different second stage on some cities then just do it all on the same stage or is that too much common sence to deal with?????

Why does there have to be a second stage anyway??...I just saw Sounds Of The Underground in Orlando last week, and every band played on one stage and it went incredibly smooth...and one more thing, the show was only $30...Lamb Of God,Opeth,Clutch,GWAR,High On Fire,Strapping Young Lad...by far the best festival of the year!

is a fucking idiot. i wouldn't go see this tour if i had free tix. not my kind of metal; i liked megadeth's first 4 albums, then they turned into suckholes. the rest of this i simply don't care for, talented or not, not my thing.
there, that said, FUCK YOU Dave Mustaine. you can't do SHIT right. all you do is run your fucking mouth about how you're leading some kind of scene, but you're NOTHING anymore. you can't make a good record, you can't keep a band together, and apperently, you can't even book a tour properly, even though you've been doing this FOR 25 FUCKING YEARS!!!

Damn, I don't really care about any 2 stage acts but Symphony X and looks like now they're getting screwed out of a few shows.
WOuld it be so bad to bruise a few egos and let the guys play the main stage? Or maybe their music will be perceived as better than Megadeth and Dave might lose some fans?
I am also pissed by the small time slot given to Nevermore.
The bands I want to see on this tour are Nevermore and Symphony X and that all together makes like 50 mins of music...Pathetic!

check some of the smaller towns or like suburban areas for one off shows. I mean i don't know what the schedule is like for gigantour, but i know that i got to see opeth do a set that was like 2 and half times longer than thier s.o.t.u set. Ours was a better deal...so you might check on that.

Oh well I'll catch the good bands from this tour when I catch them on their own so I can see a full set not a 30 minute one like at Gigantor and OzFest

it's most likely the booking agency's fault for screwing this up on everyone. Or the venue's. Sucks that all those bands aren't going to be playing now- i was really hoping to see some of them, but will Ticketmonster refund me 20% of my ticket price now that only 80% of the bands I paid to see are performing??? I seriously doubt it. I don't blame Mustaine though, I blame the venue and the booking agency.
