COURTNEY LOVE: DAVE GROHL Is 'One Of The Biggest Jerks' In Rock

The Associated Press has issued the following report: Though some have labeled Dave Grohl of the FOO FIGHTERS the "nicest guy in rock," Courtney Love would beg to differ. " Dave gets to walk away unscathed and be the happy guy in rock, when he's one of the biggest jerks," Love says in the August issue of Spin, on newsstands Friday. "He's been taking money from my child for years." Love, the widow of Kurt Cobain, and Grohl, who played drums in NIRVANA, have feuded before. Grohl and NIRVANA bassist Krist Novoselic became mired in three years of litigation in a dispute over the timing of the famed grunge band's box set, "With the Lights Out". They settled their legal issues in September 2002 and the CDs were released last year. The office of Grohl's manager, John Silva, told The Associated Press Monday that Grohl wouldn't comment on Love's criticism. As for being the "nicest guy in rock," Grohl wonders where the title came from. "I don't know. Because I don't do coke?" Grohl asks Spin. "I supposed it's not taking anything for granted and feeling lucky to be here. "There's ... thousands of nice guys in the world! Courtney is just a very negative person. Grohl is and has been doing nothing but his job. He deserves some money from his Nirvana work but he deserves alot more respect for being what alot of celebrities seem to have a hard time bieng...themselves. I respect Dave Grohl more than I think any musician out there because he doesn't let anything go to his head and he isn't afraid of anything new (Probot, drumming for another band). Courtney is just upset that Dave is more successful than she is and didn't have to give up himself to get there.

Coutney Love is probably the most overrated rock musician ever.
1. He killed Kurt
2. He exploited Kurt's death and became famous
3. He exploited the Nirvana royalties left to her after Kurt's death
4. As these were not enough she gave us her "performance" in Larry Flint (she even didn't need to act, after all she's a real bitch)
5. She has been a shit mother for Kurt's child
6. Now she talks even more shit behind the backs of the remaining members of Nirvana

She's kind of telling the truth. Grohl writes some excellent, fun music sans Nirvana, but he's not responsible for that great band's success. He talks at length in the new interview about how Kurt Cobain thought he sucked. On that note, I have to say that he is really a disappointment when you meet him in person. I'm a rock journalist and an admitted Foo fan boy. It was a sad sight to meet him, and find out he was the typical fan-hating wannabe rock star with an inflated ego and a glorified titty dancer girlfriend. At one large-scale radio show he bitched about performing for a huge number fans because of hot temps. Funny, he didn't have to go on until nightfall, when temps had dropped a good 10 degrees. Many other bands did their duty in the blazing sun. He also had a bunch of folks thrown out for taking pics. He also had a few fans "banished" for looking at him when he was lying on the grass at the show with his girlfriend. It's not like there weren't private, isolated backstage areas where he could have cuddled with his girlfriend, he chose to do it in the open, public area. Still, several people were kicked out for gawking. It's kind of lame and typical of prima donnas.
But what difference does it make. He's a superior musician and I don't care that he's a dick in everday life. Actually, the same goes for Courtney. I don't care that she's an unstable bitchy, gossipy queen. She makes undeniably good music ... if you're a true music fan you'd check it out and see for yourself.
Anyway, long live Dave and Courtney.

Grohl deserves the money he gets from Nirvana cause he was a fucking part of it, and frankly the child deserves to see more of Nirvana's $$ than she does cause at least shares Kurt's blood.

There are no facts there. After that tirade (please excuse the paraphrasing) I was struck by one thought......Get yer coat Courtney, you've pulled. You better hurry up now, because its either that or he'll end up dry-humping Kurts gravestone.
As for his "talent", yeah granted, whoopdy-fuckindoo if you like that kinda thing. It was ok, I went through a really small grunge phase (lets face it, the only good bands were Soundgarden, Alice in Chains and Melvins), but to be honest, miserable tinks staring at their shoes and mumbling gets on your tits after a while.
I will never forget the night we went to our local metal nightclub the weekend after Cobain off-ed himself. The DJ played a tribute song, especially for him and his heart-broken fans.
