OASIS Frontman Slams MANOWAR Over 'Loudest Band' Claim

Canada's ChartAttack.com is reporting that British rockers OASIS have an unlikely new adversary — Auburn, New York heavy metal band MANOWAR. That's what happens when you stop singer Liam Gallagher in mid-brag about how OASIS are "like, the loudest band in the fucking world onstage" and tell him that the Guinness Book Of World Records instead favors MANOWAR. "But they're loud and shit though, aren't they? They're just shit," Gallagher says emphatically. Seated beside him, bassist Andy Bell is somewhat perplexed. "Who are they anyway?" Bell asks. "Heavy metal?" "Fuck MANOWAR," interjects Gallagher decisively. There's a pause as Liam's insult sinks in. Then Bell replies dryly, "That was a good point anyway. A bit blunt of you, but well made."

Anyone who thinks Manowar sucks has never seen them live. I'll agree their lyrics are cheesy as hell, but how can you say that "Hail and Kill" doesn't just kick you in the fucking face? Or "Blood of a King," "Burning," "Wheels of Fire," "House of Death," or "The Power of Thy Sword?"

I have had the severe missfortune of seeing Oasis live. Not only are they not that loud they are also quite rude the fans (idiots), the musicianship is of a very low standard and the show is boring. Manowar could play them of the stage, in fact so could f*****g a bag of crisps! I am British and am ashamed to count them as my kin, I cant wait for them to fall on a spike.

oasis started more than 10 years ago. That's kind of just when they broke in the u.s. THey do however suck completely and entirely now (i was sort of almost a fan until I realized they only have about 3 songs that don't suck)

at Bristol Colston Hall on the Hail to England Tour was mentally loud, but still have to go some to beat Budgie at Cardiff Top Rank, that was total insane loudness. Totally deaf for 2 days after that show..

Regarding Motorhead's volume...when I saw them with Morbid Angel 2-3 years ago, MA was much louder (I was surprised that Motorhead "allowed" them to be louder!). MA made them sound like a junior high garage band.
