MÖTLEY CRÜE To Open For THE ROLLING STONES - July 27, 2005
MÖTLEY CRÜE drummer Tommy Lee revealed during an appearance on the "Rockline" syndicated radio show earlier this week that the CRÜE will support THE ROLLING STONES at four shows late summer/early fall. Among the cities tentatively scheduled to feature the CRÜE are Chicago, Portland and Seattle. No further information is currently available.

I'm surprised that a band of The Stones' stature would even acknowledge Motley Crue.

and not the Rolling Stones; that would totally detract from any credibilty they have left. Maybe Charlie will teach Tommy how to play the drums again.

I saw The Stones at the Superdome in New Orleans in 1978 and the openers were The Doobie Brothers and Van Halen.

Ottawa has Our Lady Peace and Les Trois Accords a.k.a. Trois-Rivieres' Only Jet Cover Band opening the Rolling Stones show. I'd say a trade is in order seeing as OLP are totally hack live and Les Trois Accords, while they were decent enough for the Live 8 Barrie show, reminded me of too many of those "retro" filler bands currently on the radio. Except they sang in French. And let's just say that it wasn't the language barrier that made me lose interest in them either.
