STAIND Guitarist: 'We Would Get Destroyed On OZZFEST'

Launch Radio Networks reports: STAIND will perform a Fusion Flash Concert on August 9, the same day that the band releases its new album, "Chapter V". Fans can learn the gig's secret location in Boston by registering at FusionFlashConcerts.com. STAIND is one of several acts participating in the Fusion Flash series, which is sponsored by Ford Motors. The shows reflect the "flash mob" concept, where mass crowds meet at specific locations after being alerted via e-mail or text message.
One series of concerts you won't see STAIND involved with is Ozzfest. Guitarist Mike Mushok told Launch that he thinks his band's diverse sound wouldn't go over well with that festival's metal-hungry audience. "I think we'd get destroyed on Ozzfest," he said. "Like, the last two years of Ozzfest has been metal. Honestly, we could go out there and play an hour's worth of real heavy stuff, but I think that there's a perception with the band that that's not what we are, because our success has come from more of the slower, melodic type of tunes, even though there is an aggressive side to what we do."
STAIND is currently opening for 3 DOORS DOWN, along with BREAKING BENJAMIN and NO ADDRESS. The bands play in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio tonight (Wednesday, July 27) and Albany, New York on Friday (July 29).

Completely correct. I have Staind's first disc and it's actually pretty heavy. After that they changed. Cool, whatever makes them happy, but I didn't care for what they became and I certainly don't care what they sound like now.
They are successful in their own right, they don't need Ozzfest and Ozzfest doesn't need them.

Diverse sound? The only variation in sound was from their first album (moderately heavy) to everything else they've put out (whiny pussy music).
Thank the gods they don't want to be on Ozzfest. That would tarnish its already heavily tarnished reputation.

i too agree that staind would be eaten alive at ozzfest but i would like to point out that that does indeed mean that staind apparently wears sissypants since ozzfest has gone from being a three ring circus of nu metal crap to now being a crapfest of which ever metal bands seem to be doing well...most of which are mediocre shopping mall sensations like kill swtiched engaged or god forbid.
so even if duechey mcduechenstien is right and staind could play "two hours of really heavy stuff" it would be heavy stuff on the scale of ozzfest which is to say painfully boring and dull.

I got lucky that year at Ozzfest. The singer of CT got arrested to night before and they didn't play.
Smart guy from Stain'd. They would get pelted with sod at DTE.
Mudshovel is about the oly one I care for that they did.

Aaron Lewis is the most constipated looking singer i've ever seen. he's always bent over, holding his stomach with beads of sweat coming down his head and he sounds like he's trying to force out turds. i say feed the poor boy some laxatives and maybe he won't be such a miserable human being.

LIKE SHIT. That is unless talent is defined as who can fucking scream the loudest. Christ how do you fuckers listen to it? Makes me want to take an icepick to my fucking eardrums it does. I suppose many will disagree, that is your right...as is your right to listen to screaming and believe that it is music. Most of you fuckers are sadly in need of an identity and anger is the closest thing to creativity that you can muster. Well, THE CLASH was plenty angry and they were TALENTED as well AND, they did not make my ears want to take a SHIT!!!

Staind didn't get popular from that duet with fred they got popular off mudshuvel and It's been awhile. Sure Fred found them and promoted them in their earlier career, and that one song did take them pretty high but they were decently established by that point.

I've seen them a few times and they put on a pretty good show. Granted, I only saw them on their first tour and they wern't the greatest band in the world by ANY MEANS but they were pretty good.
He's right about the Ozzfest, but then again, there's a whole load of shitty bands playing as well. Sounds Of The Underground for this fool. That's a solid bill!!!! and for what? $30.00? Damn!
Anyway, Three Doors Down is sub-par dude, I don't know what the hell your talking about? Just like the slew of others, Third Eye Blind, Incubus, Crazy Town (one of the worst bands EVER to be on the Ozzfest tour!!!!), just pulp crap music and any newer Staind that I've ever heard is right in there with it.

Staind offer nothing even remotely interesting to listen to. Which is why they're on the radio, of course. A pointless radio band that writes pointless radio music, so pointless people who listen to the radio can have some background noise while they go through the daily motions.
