LINKIN PARK Frontman Working On Solo Album

LINKIN PARK frontman Chester Bennington is currently in the studio recording his debut solo album with producers (and ORGY members) Amir Derakh and Ryan Shuck. The as-yet-untitled CD is expected to be completed before the end of the year for an early 2006 release.

Really, is this worth fretting over?
Chester Bennington is just a wierd little nerdy anime-obsessed guy --kinda like the wierd little anime obsessed friend you and I have-- and the worst he can do is carbon copy Jonathan Davis like everyone else in that generation of bands. But who cares. It's really no reason to get in a fucking huff. If we are all so obsessed with the faux-truth that pop will stop us from listening to real music, why don't we complain about everyone else, like Ricky Martin, Jessica Simpson, or Kelly Osbourne?
Because, silly bitch, it has no effect on solidly bult individuals. Pop music will always be around in one form or another, and it's for a certain group of people; and they can listen all day long. The fact that one japanime dork is having a solo-album is about as threatening to my music tastes as when Justin went solo from the Backstreet Boys.

is the only one that really shows any promise in that band. His solo won't sound at all like hip hop you moron, he's the reason why they have any rock in their sound at all. Don't get me wrong, i'm not into LP and the solo attempt will probably crash and burn like most others. But if you've ever heard any interviews with this guy you'll realize that he's all about heavy rock. No, certainly not Meshuggah or shit like that, but as long as he has most production control in this project it has a chance to rock.
Perhaps the best thing to come from this news is the hope that LP is on its way of a split. All the guys are workin on solo stuff says they're all too full of themselves now.

OK, why the hell is everyone wasting their time bashimg bands they don't like? Nobody is telling you to listen to them so just don't bother saying shit like "lp sucks or chester is a shitty singer" or whatnot. I like LP and it's cool to hear something different come out of them. Mike is doing his solo rap thing and I really would like to see what Chester will do.
As for the comment about them being full of themselves, that's fucking horseshit. Out of all the big bands out there right now, these guys really take time for their fans, I have yet to see a band who plays a sold out stadium show to come to the crowd and shake hands and sign autographs (and I have been to a lot of big shows) after they finish their set.

I work in a music store, and I see firsthand sales numbers. I can tell you right now this album is going to flop. Not just because Linkin Park sucks, or the fact that Chester is one of the main reasons that LP sucks.....for the sheer simple fact that big-headed vocalists who sing like they're in a pre-pubescent garage band have absolutely nothing interesting to say. This album isn't gonna be worth the cd's its recorded on.

i am a big fan of lp from the beginning, it's not just a band that plays there music and thats it. there all artist in every singel way, if it came to music art or even producing they alle did it by themselfs. but a solo album ? i think its so mutch better to go on with lp and not gonna bring a solo album out. going solo is most of the time the end of a band.

Well if Chester's solo album ends LP, that may be the best thing to happen all year. He goes solo, LP falls apart, and then his album flops.....LP loses all around!! Perfect!! But rest assured as soon as they're gone, 3 more bands who are even worse will appear in their place so its a never ending cycle.

If you read anything, especially the info he has about himself on his personal website (www.amirderakh.com) you would realize that he is very good pick to work on Chesters solo album. Amirs past is filled with playing metal guitar, and if you look you will see that he has produced and worked with some cool ass metal bands, like Coal Chamber, Spineshank, and Danzig. Chill out, its not that big of a deal.....

first off, it sounds like i am the only Linkin Park fan in the entire place and now on to my reply. i think all of u people who are talkin shit about LP and Chester Bennington need to get ur ears checked. i mean in a time where all that is on the radio anymore is washed up green day, nsync and britney spears no talent asses, LP came in and made music actually enjoyable. Their Hybrid Theory and Meteora albums are great to listen to all the way through and they are sum of the best albums of the past 10 years. Chester Bennington is the heart of LP which shows in every song because of the power and feeling he puts into his parts in a song. So i think that his solo album will be awesome, because LP is great, plus if u listen to the Queen of the Damned soundtrack his solo song is incredible.

THANX to all of the LPU and fans out there for sticking up for the guys and shutting those dumb asses up because i was getting real sad as i saw them say all these dumb reasons they dont like the band... like because it has rap. If anyone knows anything, they should be praised for theyre fresh shit. Sure Limp Biz raps with riffs too but theyre lyrics are corny... LP's lyrics are real life problems that the majority of us have. You'll never hear me slam Metal... because even tho im black i grew up on the shit.... but LP is better than most of todays HeadBangers aside from Disturbed and KillSwitch Engage. LP is not exactly rock nor rap... not really Nu-Metal either seeing that LB and Korn fit in there and their nothing alike.... So you cant compare them at ALL. Linkin Park is praised by its fans simply because they can RELATE to their music so easily. Now about Chester Bennington's solo shit... if you've even heard the dark shit he wrote and put on Queen of The DAmned... and the effort he put in with the Home Sweet Home cover.... you can expect an all around great CD.
