I dont have anything against Megadeth. Mustaine is angry cause he never made it like Metallica, but the more he tours the more he shows that he's way smaller when it comes to concerts attendance.

Megadeth is and always will be one of the best...if not the best...metal band around. Dave Mustaine is amazing and Megadeth is fucking awesome!

This tour should've started in Sept. or Oct.. Then it would not be compeating for with Ozzefest for the all mighty dollar of rock fans.

To have Gigantour as an affordable alternative to OZZFEST. Unfortunately for Dave, its an alternative that not enough people are choosing. The tour will be one of the summers biggest money losers. And you can see why, most of these bands on the bill don't break the 100,000 units barrier of each of their respective CD releases. Even the Co-Headlines only do about 150 to 250 thousand units these days. Small records sales translate to small tickets sales. Unless its a nostalgia tour like the Rock Never Stops or even the Def Leppard/Bryan Adams tour. The bands on the Gigantour are on the road all the time and they don't sell many records to begin with. That equals a failed tour. Dave won't do it next year, because no promoter would touch it. OZZFEST keeps going because it draws in the crowds.

the fans have spoken. there are almost no more choices of good METAL bands to listen to, here in the usa, therefore to go and see live. until bands start playing real good metal music again, like only a few bands are doing still, metal fans arent gonna pay to see them. i think kids are figuring out that the nu-metal stuff, for the most part, is all the same shit and basically sucks. static x, in flames, korn, etc... some good songs but staying-power? other than slayer and a few good "still around" or re-united 80's bands, who is left? iced earth? fear factory?? nevermore??? static x????? in flames?????? newest version of megadeth???
sorry but i ain't buying or payin until really good stuff comes back. not just a reunion tour, but a REAL metal cd. time to raise the bar and look for new alternatives to the crappy selection we are "fed" here.
there are still a few real METAL bands from a while back that are doing it right... we just ain't looking or listening for them and many of them are not coming from out of the country.
just an opinion, of course.

Well honestly, I think they might get 3-5000 (at the most) in the venues in Toronto and Montreal. They have the population and a huge metal market. Plus I think Dream Theater has one of it's biggest markets in Montreal. I would imagine many people will leave in Montreal after DT plays.
As for western Canada, I think the fact that the reunited Anthrax is playing in Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver that's probably driving most of the ticket sales. I think they'll get maybe 3000-3500 in each city.
I was planning to go, but now that Anthrax is opening for Priest, I might just sell my ticket now and wait until October.
I never thought that Rock Never Stops though would be doing better than Gigantour!

Just because this tour might not make as much money as Ozzfest doesnt mean anything. It's not about the money...its about the music. Why the hell does there have to be a price tag on everything? Who cares if Ozzfest makes more...its always successful...alot of people just go to go.
People can say what they want about Dave Mustaine and Megadeth...but I met him and the band yesterday; and they were one of the friendliest bands I've met. Dave Mustaine was so warm and welcoming. I was blown away by how nice he was. So say what you want...I love megadeth; and Dave Mustaine rocks!

It'll still be a huge failure, but I'd guess attendence will double on the dates where Anthrax replaces the massive buzzkill known as Dream Theater. Guaranteed, aside from Pull Me Under, no fan of any of the other bands gives two sh**s about Labrie and co's wankery. All kinds of old mulletheaded heshers will come out of the woodwork for a 'Deth 'Thrax double bill though.

Figures Billboard would show the Gigantour attendence for the worst one of their tour! Billboard hates metal so they want you to think it's not doing well! I live in Vegas and this show wasn't promoted! No ads or nothing. How are people going to go to this show if they don't even know about it? This tour is doing way better in other cities and doing well when it is promoted! It's not fair to show this show attendence in Vegas!!!! Lets see the other city attendence for Gigantour? If you would, you would see it is doing very well. The key is promotions!!! By the way, the best band on Gigantour is Nevermore!

I have heard the Gigantour has been sold out in some cities. Show those attendence records!!! Come on! Seriously, go ask other people that have seen this tour in other cities. Please don't judge this by Vegas! Like I said, it wasn't promoted here in Vegas by the promoters and that was the problem!! I know many people that would have went if they had known about it! See my point here? Gigantour is doing great!

This is not a laughing matter! Us metalheads must stick together and realize there is a anti-metal agenda out there like billboard and even Clear Channel. This is not funny. We all need to stick together and fight back. They are not going to take metal away from us again! Keep the metal alive. It's what happened here in Las Vegas with the Gigantour. No promotions because someone didn't care or wanted to see it fail! Like I sad, Gigantour is doing great in other cities where it is being promoted. Promotions is the key! Even if you don't like some of the band here be glad it's still out there and hip hop/rap crap and alternative isn't taking over again!!! Come on people wake up! Don't wake up dead!
