'Dirty Diamonds' Is ALICE COOPER's Highest-Charting Album In 11 Years

Billboard magazine is reporting that ALICE COOPER has his highest-charting album on The Billboard 200 in 11 years.
"Dirty Diamonds" (New West) opened at No. 169 in the week ended August 7. That's COOPER's highest-debuting and highest-charting set since "The Last Temptation of Alice Cooper", which debuted and peaked at No. 68 in July 1994.
"Diamonds" is the 23rd chart album of COOPER's career, which began with the debut of "Pretties for You" in June 1969. That LP reached No. 193. The most successful ALICE COOPER album is "Billion Dollar Babies", which spent the week of April 21, 1973 at No. 1.

I have seen Alice Cooper live twice. First, in Pittsburgh, with Vinnie Vincent Invasion opening. Second, in DC in 1999. Both shows were incredible. The guy has a stage presence that is hard to believe. And, over the years, he again and again has demonstrated his ability to write great songs. You want to go out and buy a great CD -- get "Alice Cooper's Greatest Hits."

No one has made a valid point against my previous statment.... it stands as is. Most of it has been childish insults, nothing new. The closest someone has come to anything remotely intelligent was 'itwalksamongus' statment, referring to the Arnold Swarzenegger, but it is none-the-less flawd. Movies and Music are two different things. People are much more heavily influnced by music. When was the last time someone saw a terminator film and then went on a mass murder rampage. Does not happen.

Why is it perfectly okay for someone like Alice Cooper or even Slayer to promote shock rock/blasphemous metal, and take peoples money, when they are actually the opposite, but when a preacher claims to be in touch with god and takes peoples money... he is an asshole? alright how bout this? Alice Cooper has been doing the stage show since he started. Infact he invented 'shock rock' and the greatest stage show ever; back when he was a reckless kid and tried to get away from everything his fater ever tried to teach him. And what's wrong w/ loving God? it's something that his dad tried to teach him as a child for his dad was a preacher. So I guess you can't love god and make good music eh? Can't love god and have a bad ass stage show? So guess where this leaves us! A man has grown up, matured, has a family of his own and tries to convey a good message for his kids so that they don't make bad choices in their life...............and BTW Slayer actually hates god if u listen to ALice Cooper's lyrics their is no hint of blasphemy in them. First off, thanks for clearing up the "your" and "you're" grammar dilemma... all the while cleverly misspelling "hypocrite" to make you only APPEAR to be a... hmmm... not sure how YOU'D pronounce it, but I spell it C-U-N-T.
As you apparently didn't get too much farther THAN third grade English, "nonetheless" is all one word and your spelling of the word "statment" is somewhat "flawd", no doubt "influnced" by your edjikation.
In regards to your comparisons to film and music, you're so far off it's laughable (laffable?). Film and visuals reach far more people than music (ESPECIALLY the underdogged heavy metal genre) could ever hope for. You might remember this thing that came about in the 80's that set the music world on it's ass... MTV (sic?)?
Mass murder rampage? Columbine High School? THE MATRIX? Did you miss that or only catch the Marilyn Manson (hey, a shock rocker who uses a feminine first name - HOW ORIGINAL!) references? When was the last time ANYONE listened to MUSIC and went on a mass murder rampage? 1969? Spahn Ranch, maybe?
And (I KNOW you learned in the third grade to never, EVER begin a sentence with "and", but stay with me here), speaking of The Beatles, NO other musician has so cleverly and successfully combined the genres of music, theatrics AND film as Alice Cooper.

It always has been - everyone knows it - and since about 1972 he has stated that plainly. It's anyone's choice to enjoy his act or not. Thank you for the corrections, however there is one difference. All those that you pointed out were "typos" There is a big difference in a typo and miss-using a word like "your" when it should be "you're." One is a mistake the other is ignorance.

Thanks Alice for contributing to brainwashing Dave Mustaine. One thing I will say about Mustaine, though, is that he doesn't pretend to be two different people. When you see a great performer like, say, Trent Reznor or Chuck Schuldiner, you are blown away by the honesty of the expression, by the heart of what they put into their music.
And then you see someone like Alice, the biggest phoney in metal.

You know nothing about music, Alice barely does up his theatrics any longer. Just two years ago, he did the bare bones tour, with NO theatrics. He has also said, when he does "the full show" now, it's family entertainment. Before you bash that, his reasoning is, iwith things like 9/11 happening, Alice is hardly scary to a new generation. Times have changed. Bottom line is this... THIS IS THE BEST CD BY ALICE SINCE MUSCLE OF LOVE! This mixes all his best elements of his 70's and early 80's influences. I have all his CD's, and I am so impressed with his music on this one. Let's see how many other artists can pull that off. Usually they fail. His show really has nothing to do with the quality of the music on his CD. Besides, if you don't like the cd... just go fuck yourself!
