EXODUS: 'Shovel Headed Kill Machine' Track Listing, Artwork Revealed

Veteran San Francisco Bay Area thrashers EXODUS have finalized the track listing for their new album, "Shovel Headed Kill Machine", due on October 4 via Nuclear Blast Records. Recorded at Trident studios in Pacheco, California and mixed by Andy Sneap ( MACHINE HEAD, ARCH ENEMY), the follow-up to 2004's "Tempo of the Damned" is the band's first to feature new members Lee Altus (guitar; HEATHEN, ex- DIE KRUPPS), Paul Bostaph (drums; ex- SLAYER, FORBIDDEN) and Rob Dukes (vocals). Hopefully this Dukes guy can match up to Steve or even Paul's singing. Saw him hanging around the guys at Namm before he became their singer. Good luck with your new CD and tour! Please play Las Vegas, Nevada!

The cover kicks ass. What the hell are you talking about caer_mawdryn? "Since this is an 80's band, generic?" What the hell does that have to do with anything? Metal has the best covers in the world! Very creative and killer art! Get your head out of the hole! If your not into Metal then get the hell out of here! Exodus rules and Tempo of the Damned was the best Metal CD of the year in 2004! Their best album wasn't even in the 80's! It was 2004! Open your eyes!

if this disc is half the disc "Tempo of the Damned" is (from the sound of the tracks..IT IS) watch out America here comes some old school metal SHOT right in your face with the force of a 44 magnum!!!!!!

What happened to that lame nu-metal band Systematic that he left Slayer for? He's a kick ass drummer, but I didn't like the way he left Slayer hanging in the middle of a freaking tour. Thankfully Dave was willing to step up and take over.
Exodus is alright, but I can't stand the vocals on any of the albums. Is this vocalist the same guy from the last album, or is there a chance that he won't suck?

I loved 'Tempo of the Damned', but this new singer is really going to make or break this upcoming release. I hope he can hold his own and not make them sound generic.

I hope the music does too."Tempo.." was a crushing album,second only to "bonded by Blood" and this better be good.
It is a dissapointment ,though,that the original line up is gone....

Well actually, for it to "Kick ass" as a cover personally speaking- I would like to see something slightly more thought provoking..that doesn't mean less brutal, it means something a little more striking, not so much "designer grey" and some better brushwork in the realisation of the artwork. OK, i concede it's better than "Bonded by Blood"- but it still has that 80's feel. Maybe not a bad thing.

paul bostaph is the perfect fit for exodus ..i just know the drumming will be a thousand times better then the last album ...i didnt like him much in slayer...he was great in forbidden tho ...cant wait to hear this one.

Tom Hunting and Gary Holt are the original members left in Exodus now. Even with the lineup changes I can't see Hunolt's departure working against them even though his dual guitar partnership were part of the nucleus that made Exodus what they were.
Plus it's not like they're the only band to go through frequent lineups in almost a yearly basis. People forgave Kiss and Oasis to an extent for almost the exact same thing.
