LINKIN PARK Singer Says Solo Album Will Have 'Driving Beats And Walls Of Guitars'

RollingStone.com has confirmed that LINKIN PARK frontman Chester Bennington is working on his solo debut, tentatively due in early 2006.
"We took Nineties rock, mixed it with Eighties pop like DEPECHE MODE, THE CURE and BAUHAUS and smashed them together," says Bennington. "It's fuckin' driving beats and walls of guitars."
Bennington is reportedly working with producers (and ORGY members) Amir Derakh and Ryan Shuck on the as-yet-untitled CD. Songtitles set to appear on the album include "Morning After" and "Walking in Circles". Bennington is said to be "especially psyched" about a new song, which a friend says "sounds like T. REX."
LINKIN PARK's sophomore album, "Meteora", sold more than 10 million copies worldwide, and the band's most recent release, last December's mash-up album with rapper Jay-Z, "Collision Course", debuted at the top of the chart.

Most people that like LINKIN PARK probably wouldn't have a clue who Chester Bennington is, Unless You told them He was the kid that screams all of the vocals in the LINKIN PARK songs.
Now, When bands have one or two popular CD's the members feel They need to start releasing solo CD's.
WTF????
I remember When bands had to release about 5 to 10 popular CD's before any band member was able to put out a solo CD.
First, Ben Moody now Chester Bennington.

A. The stuff was GOOD though in the late 60s, and B.
B. It wasnt selling 20 million albums over two releases, and then "disappearing".
For instance, Purple and Sabbath, two of the main metal acts and reasons for 95% of what we hear now, might have been lucky to have grossed the 20 million album mark over the entire span of their 35 year career (and each band has released over 20 albums).
I get your point, but you are comparing apples and oranges really.

Let's see...Scott Weiland, Billy Corgan, Dave Navarro, there's gotta be more than that! Anyone know of any others? But anyway, Chester's lame as hell. It has nothing to do with the fact that he's not metal, it has to do with the fact that he writes cloying juvenile boy-band melodies and whiny 13 year old angst lyrics. I am not a Linkin Park fan, but to your statment; Just about every rock/metal band in existence are targeted for kids and teens. Pantera, Slayer, Iron Maiden, The Beatles, Metallica, Megadeth - anyone you can think of was for the kids with respect to their time of course. A lot of adults like them now because they are older bands, but when they were in their prime, like Linkin Park, it was the kids that went to their shows and bought their stuff.

I think this album will be pretty decent! He is working with Ryan and Amir of Orgy who have a side project called Julien-K. Their production skills are amazing which will enhance the quality of this album. On the other hand, Mike Shinoda of LP has a solo album, which I will probably not buy because it will feature more rap than rock.
Chester has an awesome voice and that is not undeniable. I'm sure this album will be good. People don't appreciate other music on this board if it is not bands like Otep and other shit like that! Get out of your death metal hole and if you have nothing better to do than bash every single post, get a life.
