SHARON OSBOURNE Admits She Orchestrated Egg-Throwing: My Daughter And I 'Had A Blast'

Sharon Osbourne spoke exclusively to Kerrang! magazine ( web site) last week regading IRON MAIDEN's final performance on this year's Ozzfest tour, during which she cut MAIDEN's power and arranged to have the band pelted with eggs and debris from the crowd. A couple of excerpts from the interview follow: Kerrang!: Reading between the lines of [ IRON MAIDEN manager] Rod Smallwood's statement, the unspoken suggestion is that you orchestrated this whole thing... Sharon Osbourne: "Of course I did. I had the PA turned on and off. And look, it's not hard for someone to walk into a diehard Ozzfest crowd and say, 'Who wants to throw an egg at a rock star?' Who wouldn't wanna do that? I went out and bought 50 eggs and me and my daughter had a fucking blast. C'mon, it's rock 'n' roll. No-one died. They'll be waiting a long fucking time for an apology from me." Kerrang!: The most astonishing thing about all this is that the metal world has always had such camaraderie, such a "one for all, all for one" attitude... Sharon Osbourne: "It has, right? But for some reason Bruce Dickinson [ IRON MAIDEN singer] seemed to view it as a battle of the bands. He'd stand up on that stage and say that this wasn't the Ozzfest anymore, it was MAIDEN-fest. How fucking disrespectful is that? He's got such an '80s mentality. He's up there saying, 'Fuck MTV and fuck radio and you wouldn't catch IRON MAIDEN doing a reality show' and it's like, 'Hang on, you're a shareholder in Sanctuary, which is one of the biggest corporations in the music business.' He's never said a word about SABBATH either, only Ozzy, so it's personal. We've had 220 bands play this tour over the last 10 years and I've never felt the need to egg anyone." Kerrang!: Up to this point you’re being painted as the "Wicked Witch" here, Sharon... Sharon Osbourne: "I'm as nice as can be to people until they fuck with me and my family. I've always said that. Kerrang!: Saying things like this could make this run and run... Sharon Osbourne: "Not for me. We have Ozzfest shows to do so I'm not thinking about this anymore. In the past few years Ozzy Osbourne has shown a record of consistently missing tour dates. It is extremely disappointing to look forward to a show for days, weeks and even months, only to get to the venue and realize the band you want to see will not be playing. Ozzy’s fans have been let down time after time.
When there is a cancellation there is never an attempt to bring Ozzy back to do a makeup show of any kind. Scheduling a make-up show for cancelled or “Ozzy-less” gigs would be the right thing to do by the fans. Give the fans the option to see the show they paid for, even if it is on another date.
The undersigned believe that Ozzy should come back to play make-up shows for dates where he did not perform.

And Ozzy was paying Iron Maiden, what was it? 100,000 dollars a night? So, we have 50 bucks, stacked up against 100,000 dollars a night that the ozzbourns were paying Bruce while he insulted them the whole time. Shortly after, the whole metal community was up in arms about the safety of metal gigs. Now it seems all that was in vein, as security doesn't mean jack shit when the event organisers see it fit to instigate public displays of violence.
What Sharon did to Bruce, regardless of whether he's been a prat or not, was to say "it's okay to bring objects to metal shows and use them as weapons". After what happened to Dimebag, could you be any more disrespectful? What if someone in that audience got drunk and decided to throw a bottle? A knife even? It's all fun and games to throw eggs at people, but when you've got thousands of people drunk and rowdy at a metal gig, it could very easily turn violent.
Sharon Osbourne basically orchestrated public unrest and instigated social violence. She's condoning public violence as a solution to her personal problems. That's borderline terrorism. What she did was illegal and could easily get her in jail if someone had the balls and the money to take it to court.
I've not jumped on the 'I hate Sharon' bandwagon until now. She's advocating public violence at metal shows. After what happened to Dimebag, that is totally unrespectful and downright sick. She should be in jail.

Im an Ozzy fan but Im an Iron fan too. Im not sure what the deal with Maiden puttin down the Ozzman and the people he loves is all about but this is going to take a hell of a long time to blow over. Metal bands and fans gotta stick together. In a way chucking eggs is kind of funny but when it comes to disapointing the fans it does get a little more than personal. I mean throw a rotten ham in thier back yard or something but leave your customers out of it. They did pay to see the whole show. Maybe the few fans throwing eggs had a good time but did every one get an egg? I dont think so. and if they did most of them would have probably landed on Kelly. Again I dont understand why Iron Maiden would trash the Osbourne family and then play at Ozz-fest. It kind of seems like they were asking for it but when revenge goes all the way to insult the fans too then its gone too far. Sharron has mad many many enemies now. I just hope Ozzy doesnt have to suffer for it. Point being that there appears to be a great deal of hypocracy on Sharons part as well as all those envolved or approving beforehand.

I have been to every single Ozzfest since the damn thing began 10 years ago. It sickens me to think about how much money I've given to this disrespectful bitch over the years.
Remember when there was a riot 8 years ago in Columbus OH when Ozzy didn't show up? You obviously enjoyed it somewhat because it damn sure could have happened again with the shit you pulled. And this time it would've been with twice as many people.
It's one thing to have it in for Bruce, everyone knows he's far from a saint, but to let your paying fans suffer is unforgiveable.
I have no idea if Ozzfest will suffer in the future because of this, but I damn sure hope it does. I hope there are enough fans out there that loved attending Ozzfest every summer that will turn their backs on this thing from now on. Think about it, even if one of your favorite bands is on the bill, they're obviously not going to play a full headlining set. The chances that they will play a true show somewhere near you shortly thereafter are better than average. Save your money to see them later instead of giving it to this disgraceful rag. I know I sure as hell will.
Fuck you for what you did Sharon. You are a complete disgrace to everything heavy metal stands for.

a)I've read and re-reread interviews with Bruce since Maiden started on Ozzfest. What was said in these interveiws were blown out of context unfortunatly by some of my fellow Americans.
b)to ruin someone's set because of comments made by another band is actually very unbecoming. It shows a complete lack of class on your part,and the fact that Sauron used her ability as being the promoter of the show to ruin it for the fans who paid to see Maiden is disrespectful,selfish and wrong. To have lashed back in the media would have gotten your point across and may have left the door open to make Dickinson the "bad guy"
c) the fact that so many people(i.e Otep and Osbourne camp members) denied the fact that Smelly Kelly had anything to do with the incident,only for Sharon to admit it a week later is absolute bullshit. If Sauron is so proud of what she did,they would have had no problem in having the balls to say"Yeah,my afterbirth and I did it."
So for all involved,you have single-handedly taken a word battle and made this all on Ozzy now,until he comes forward and gives us his position on the situation.

When a great band takes the main stage ANYWHERE in the world it becomes their OWN. They own it. Especially the legendary Iron Maiden. So yes, OZZFEST did become MAIDENFEST from the moment Maiden stepped out on stage until their set was over. Something Sharon can't understand apparantly.
Sharon is using Ozzy's name for her own pesonal benefit again. Sharon has decided to "fight" Ozzy's battles, but I'd bet that Ozzy wouldn't see the situation as something worth fretting over anyway.
The fact that Ozzy hasn't made a statement is enough said.

I've liked Maiden for years, I've liked Ozzy for years, I however never liked Black Label Society but that's because I just don't care for their stuff, I could really give a shit what Zakk says. To all those who are behind Sharon and her actions, and complaining about people that are for Maiden, calling them whiny, bitches, ect. Here is my question. What would you be doing if the sides were reversed and Maiden threw eggs at Black Sabbath and cut their power during say "paranoid". What would you be saying? You would be calling for Maiden's head on a fucking platter. You would be pissed and rightly so. If the story of Steve Harris going to Ozzy and apologizing is true then it should have ended right there. But it didn't. Sharon claims she had to listen to Bruce's disrespecting Ozzfest every night for 5 weeks, well then buy them out and kick them off the tour. But you couldn't do that, because Maiden = asses in the seats. How many can say they watched Iron Maiden and Black Sabbath on the same stage. If I wasn't out of town on the day it came near me I would have been there. If Sharon would give the fans an apology it would go a long way. I have a feeling that Ozzy probably doesn't even know what happened yet. I'll wait to hear a statement from him on the situation I'm curious as to what he thinks.

I haven't been to an Ozzfest (thank god), I havent bought anything from Ozzy since Randy Rhodes died.
When that Ozzy Family came on, I changed the channel, if you want to make an impact on some rich asshole, don't take your money out of your pocket!
Sharon has power because we (the people) gave it to her, but let's not forget that we too can take that power away.
