Former GUNS N' ROSES Guitarist BUCKETHEAD Signs Solo Deal With SERJICAL STRIKE - Sep. 7, 2005
Former GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Buckethead has inked a deal with SYSTEM OF A DOWN frontman Serj Tankian's Serjical Strike label for the October 25 release of his next album, "Enter the Chicken". Tankian produced the album and makes a guest appearance on the tracks "Waiting Here" and "We Are One".

According to an official press release, "What makes 'Enter the Chicken' unique among all other Buckethead albums is the contribution of different singers throughout the body of work. Both producer and guitarist recruited some of today’s brightest musical talents to lend their voice including Saul Williams, Efrem Schulz (DEATH BY STEREO), Maura Davis (DENALI, BELLA LEA), Azam Ali (VAS, NIYAZ), BAD ACID TRIP, Maximum Bob (DELI CREEPS), Gigi, Shana Halligan and Ani Maldjian. When all was said and done, a total of 11 different vocalists specializing in musical styles ranging from opera, metal, rap, indie rock, grindcore, world and everything in between found their way onto 'Enter The Chicken'."

"Enter the Chicken" track listing, according to Billboard.com:

01. Intro
02. We Are One (feat. Serj Tankian)
03. Botnus (feat. Efrem Schulz)
04. Three Fingers (feat. Saul Williams)
05. Running from the Light (feat. Gigi and Maura Davis)
06. Coma (feat. Azam Ali)
07. Waiting Hare (feat. Shana Halligan and Serj Tankian)

I got a bunch of his stuff. I don't listen to it all the time.most of his stuff his sorta so-so.hit or a miss type thing.I just wish he would get in a REAL band.get a singer, drummer, bass player, and of course him and fucking make a real album. Most of his stuff pretty weird and border line throwaway.... if he were to actually write lyrics I wonder what they would be about?

Nice.

We are one step closer to striking the chord which will wipe all mainstream bands from the plain of existence.

Please Buckethead, play...

I'm glad SOMEONE is helping out this shredding genius! Thats cool of Tankian to take notice! Buckethead is the best guitarist that no one knows about! Maybe this will change now. He has been playing for years. Praxis should be checked out, it features Brain (Primus) on drums, Bootsy Collins on bass and Bernie Worrell on keys ( both of Funkadelic). Its a rollercoaster ride that is Thrash metal, electronic, psychadelic, and even jazz thrown in! Its fucking cool!

Is without a doubt one of the best guitarist alive. I saw him with G'N'R in Toronto, and not only did he pull off Slash's shit flawlessly, he did some really fucked up cyber-solo that started out with him doing some weird nun-chuk break dance. He is really strange but amazing on guitar. Maybe Serj will be able to pull something off, since he doesn't have to compete with Daron for vocal control.

Patton and Buckethead performed live together several times, years ago in the Bay Area. You can find recordings of the shows on Soulseek, personally I was very dissapointed with it, being a huge fan of both musicians, and it's no surprice that no album followed. But at least they tried :)
Anyone who doesn't give Buckethead a listen just cause of his (brilliant) image is an idiot, not to mention people who prefer gilby clark...

I showed up at my buddies house who happened to be learning guitar. As I approached his room, I heard this noodling unlike anything I had heard before. It was Malmsteen's untitled solo before the song Hot on Your Heels by Steeler. I walk in, meet Brian (Buckethead) and he proceeds to play the fucking solo. By that time, I had gotten pretty good playing Mr. Crowley and shit like that, but this guy just knocked me for a loop. In retrospect, he taught me a lot.

Back in those days, late 83 early 84, I hung out with some awesome musicians. Brian, myself and a few other buds went and saw Paul Gilbert when he was in Blacksheep. Good God that was an incredible show of guitar prowess.
